Thanks for the link. I actually found one a dollar cheaper with free shipping from Meritline, via the Got Apex section on the newspage here. Bought a switcher there as well.

You may find with a long run on a HDMI cable that going the cheap route may cause problems. There is no reason to get exspensive cables on short runs as basically any cable will do. But I believe that on longer HDMI cable runs many of the cheaper cables do not do as well. I remember listening to a podcast from AVRant on this topic, at least I believe it was that podcast. If you have problems I would go with a monster cable as it should solve any problems you may have. However if you are not having any issues due to the length of the cable at 1080p resolutions then cool no worries !

The only problem Monster Cable will solve is the overabundance of money in your bank account. The linked cable from Monoprice should work fine.

It's something akin to the 10' passive USB cables Belkin sells for $35+ and I can buy an identical cable from Amazon for $1.99 + shipping which performs the same. All you are moving are 1s and 0s.

If you check out Blue Jeans cable as well, they actually test their cables and post what the usable length is for each type of cable they sell.

When I thought I might be running HDMI through the wall, my research led me to Blue Jeans. I felt like they were a good compromise between affordability and quality. It turned out I didn't need to go through the wall, so I've been buying from Monoprice.

Oh, and Monster is never worth the money.
