I was walking down 5th Avenue on my way to work and I saw what I thought was a person wearing make-up. He was an otherwise normal-looking businessman in his 50's, but his skin was a dull metallic gray, very much like lead or dull silver. I thought it was some promotional gimmick but I noticed his hands were the same color and as I got closer I saw it was not makeup at all, but his actual skin color!
I looked up "silver skin" on the internet and apparently some people have a condition called argyria, which is a permanent discoloration of the skin caused by ingestion of silver! There is apparently a 'colloidial silver' remedy where it supposedly acts like an antibiotic, but the risk is your skin could permanently change color!
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Here's a picture of someone who has argyria, this is what the man's skin looked like:
