Headphones

Can you use headphones AND the speakers at the same time? The manual for my JVC TH-F3 says it shuts the speakers off when the phones jack is used

I think that's pretty much standard now days. One or the other, but not both.

I remember several years ago when I was using an old Fisher stereo, I was listening thru the headphones early one Sunday morning and when I removed them for a minute I was stunned to find out I had forgotten to turn the speakers off! My neighbors must have been pissed!

My seven(?) year old Sherwood RD7106 has a button to turn the speakers on and off when listening with headphones. The Marantz SR5002 which I bought two months ago does it automatically.
