HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: Pinocchio: 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition - Page 4

Re: HTF BLU-RAY REVIEW: Pinocchio: 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition

it has been noted elsewhere and I can now confirm (missed this on first viewing) that when running the DisneyView feature the artwork does not load on the right side of the screen during the following time period 55min50sec to 56min36sec

watching on PS3 with latest firmware

I really hope Disney has an answer/fix regarding this and at minimum an answer about the missing sound bits

I think the audio problem has become stranger: the missing bits of dialog aren't missing on the Region B blu-ray. They're there.

That IS strange.

Since they have a proper BD transfer at the ready, Disney should be able to do a recall, then, for those people who care enough about this to want it done right.

Uh, you sure? They're missing on my copy.

Yes, I just checked after some people on UltimateDisney said it was there on the UK version as well. Mine's the Dutch version, by the way. Which one is yours?

Got the Scandinavian version. So it seems not only is there inconsistencies between the American release and the European - there are differences between the discs released within Europe as well. Sigh.

Like Mike said, that's good news because it should be easy to issue a corrected disc.

Are you saying that the words are not missing on the Dutch soundtrack? Or is there an English soundtrack on that Region's version. The mystery thickens...

No, I'm talking about the English DTS-HD 7.1 audio track on the Dutch Blu-Ray. It's also confirmed that on the UK disc the missing words are there.

I can confirm that as well. I have the UK Blue-ray disc and the words are there.

I'm baffled by this. Disney has a different (correct?) English language track for the UK release? That's just... weird. I cant think of a suitable explanation for that. Why would there be a different versions of the same restored track? We aren't comparing the restored mono and the enhanced 7.1, right? Just strange.

I guess a corrected replacement disc is imminent.

No. The UK release only has the 7.1 track. It doesn't have the restored original mono theatrical audio track.

Very, very strange! Wonder what they'll have to say about this?

Has anyone called Disney to inform them? If not, they probably won't have much to say.

I have the Scandi-version as well, same story here. Those lines are not heard on the DTS 7.1 soundtrack om my copy. (In case someone was thinking Arild was mistaken).

Since apparently the missing dialogue has been fixed in the new Blu copies that Amazon is now shipping, I just ordered mine.  Can't wait to get this!

Make sure you check to ensure that the missing dialogue is there, Jeffrey.  I ordered Pinocchio from Amazon a week or two ago, and received an uncorrected copy.

Thanks to a recent Disney $10 coupon and our ongoing delusion that we'll get through our Blu-ray backlog before the heat-death of the universe ;) we're buying Pinocchio.

Are there different versions? My wife thought that BestBuy's version was labeled 2-disc, while Target sold a 3-disc version, as described in this 2009 review. We're a little confused over which copy to get.
