Will mutliple volume controls lower the volume potential of each pair of speakers?

I'd like to distribute a pair of outputs to 8 rooms (8 impedance matching volume controls) in my house. The impedance matching feature on the vol controls should allow me to do this safely, but will the volume potential in each room be significantly reduced by dividing the signal across 8 outputs?

Thanks,

Re: Will mutliple volume controls lower the volume potential of each pair of speakers

hello,
I prewire and install HHA and HT for a living. We use Proficient VC's with very good results, even in 6-8 room applications. Be sure your driving the load with at least 50/ch watts into 8 ohms and you'll get good results. I prefer the zone 2 pre-outs and a dedicated 2-ch amp for this application. You could always use the surround back/zone 2 channels of a 7.1 AVR as well, but then your down to 5.1 in the media room . If your wanting superior speakers for your rooms go with Polk LC60i.
