I'm new to the board, and want to thank everyone in advance for any help you can give me on my questions..
First of all, I've been having surround sound issues..I currently have my Toshiba DVD player set to "stream/pcm" but when I play a movie that only supports 2 channel or stereo and does not have 5.1 options, during the movie, every few minutes, there will be a sound change like the receiver is trying to change a setting...its only for a split second each time, but happens the entire length of the movie...5.1 DTS and Dolby movies work perfectly...do I need to change the DVD player setting to "dolby digital/PCM" or just to "PCM"?...i also have my sample frequency on the dvd player set to 96 KHZ..should i set it to 48 maybe?
Last question, but I just bought a PS3 and believe it comes with component cables...my tv is an HD tv but can only produce 1080i picture, so am I wasting my time buying a DVI to HDMI cable, or should I be just fine with the component cables it comes with?
Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.
