Bewitched Season 8? - Page 6

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Hey guys do any of you have any more photos of the 8th season like rare photos? I have tons of photos from the first 7 seasons, but I don't have many from the last season... since there will be no extras this season, my guess is the ranch footage will be on the boxset... Here is what I hope is on the boxset..... Tabitha, the E true hollywood Story, A&E Liz Montgomery's life, and lots of extras about the show including bloopers, the making of the seasons and why season 9 wasn't shot even though the episodes were written etc... that would be interesting.. Do any of you have the I DOJ Box set? If so are there extras on it?

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Mike, just curious, where did you get the info about Season 9 having been written in advance? In all my years of being a fan and visiting sites/forums pertaining Bewitched, I have never heard about this.

Also, who is that in that photo at Liz's star ceremony?

Hi Jude,

Several Months ago I was reading wikipedia.org and on the episodes it was talking about the first three episodes of season 9... one was called "Three Candles" about Adam's third birthday and the other two I can't remember the names of the titles... it also went on to say that 26 episodes were going to be shot starting in May 1972, but Liz didn't come back. They had the season 8 ending party and Erin Murphy got a call i think in May or June of that year saying they were not going to be employed anymore... Now all this may not be true since many things on wikipedia are not credible, but I believe that season 9 was planned according to the contract and to some books. I will try and find out what the 3 episodes were called and if they were written.

The people in the picture are Liz's daughter Rebecca and I am assuming the guy with her is her hubby and the other may be a brother or a friend... I know one of Liz's sons has curly hair and was on the E True Hollywood story.

Mike, you cannot take what you read on Wikipedia with a grain of salt...because anyone can add info to it, and a lot of the times it's wrong. I've never in all my interaction with people in the know ever heard about actual unproduced scripts that are floating around...but, it would be awesome!!

The guy in the middle is actually Billy Clift, EM's hairdresser and good friend. He wrote a book called "Everything Is Going to Be Just Fine - The Ramblings of a Mad Hairdresser". It's about his spiritual awakening after EM died. It's kinda weird...ok, it's really weird. You can order it from Amazon.com. Amazon.com: Everything is Going to be Just fine: The Ramblings of a Mad Hairdresser: Billy Clift, julie montgomery: Books

Currently, there is a movie based on this book in production. Here is a teaser trailer:

It's rumored that Christina Applegate is going to play EM...that would be way cool!

Here is the link to the IMDB page: Everything Is Going to Be Just Fine (2009)

I don't know who the gentleman to the left is, though.

I wish they would show us the back cover art. But I am glad they kept the cover that we've seen before.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

The 8'th season is running right now on WGN (heavily edited though. I can't believe how much is cut out).

And School Days, School Daze was on. The episode where Agnes Moorehead was sick. I have to admit, if you guys didn't tell me, I wouldn't have noticed anything unusual.

But I did notice a certain lack of her usual pep in some of her performance but overall, she was still commanding the screen.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

You're right about them being heavily edited on WGN. I just watched the final episode today and they didn't even show the final minute or so.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

When I watched the last episode on Nick at Nite several years ago I noticed how edited the episodes were too... if you notice the very last episode has a vacuum cleaner salesman in it and it is edited out, but when Darrin comes home Sam tells him "the pest was at the door" or something like that... I am just glad that Sony has not edited the seasons like Warner did with Mama's Family... we have 8 more weeks to go and we will have all the seasons!! YAY!!!!!!!!

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Something you probably never noticed is that Nickelodeon was not only cutting some scenes from episodes but they were showing episodes at a faster speed. Thanks to a digital treatment, the correct pitch tone was simulated in order that you cannot hear that it was showing rapidly. I made this discovery when I was playing the same episode at the same time it was shown on Nick but from another source. It was actually playing at 4% faster than the normal speed. I once recorded the Henry VIII 2 parter episodes and it was so obvious it was playing faster. Some time, during musical portions of the episodes, the digitally corrected tone pitch caused some shaking sound.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Martin are the episodes on DVD the right sound? I hope season 8 isn't edited... now I am worried... that would totally suck if we got through all 7 and then 8 was edited... And another thing I hope the box set has the whole version of My friend Ben because that was edited back in season 3 which was a disappointment

I am 100% certain that the DVDs are normal and that the future season 8 DVD box set will be too. It's all a matter of daytime TV airings to meet publicity sales spaces. Do not worry, Mike!

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Hey Guys,

Do you know where I can write to Sony and ask them to put all the footage in season 3 on the episode where Benjamin Franklin is? The second part episode doesn't do the recap... Does anyone remember the original one? I barely remember it... I hope they will do that when they release the box set... I am also assuming that Erin Murphy's tour of the ranch and the interviews with Kasey Rogers, Bernard Fox, and Alice Ghostley will be on that too... it also would be nice to see the E True Hollywood Story a bio on Liz and why the Darrin's switched as well as Tabitha the entire series... but only time will tell!

The last episode I hope they have the vacuum cleaner dude... he wasn't in the syndicated ones, but Sam tells Darrin about the pest even in the syndicated version so if one hasn't seen the episode fully they probably wonder who she is speaking of...lol

I LOVE the artwork, however, I wish they would have done orange or yellow, but hey it's great because it features Adam and I am glad because he wasn't on the last two box covers and I hope Sony pays him homage and puts him on the Discs...since it's the last season Sam, Darrin on Discs 1 and 2 and Tabs and Adam on 3 and 4 would be appropriate!!

I wonder if the Tabitha series will be on the entire Box Set coming out this Christmas?

The last episode was shown on WGN, yesterday. Although it was heavily edited, it did have the vacuum cleaner salesman scene (although I am sure a line or 2 was cut from it). So I wouldn't worry about it being absent from the DVD.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Columbia House released a factory VHS tape of the Ben Franklin Two Parter in the 1990's that was completely intact & uncut unlike both of the parts on the Season 3 DVD set which were both screwed up & incomplete.

I just took that VHS tape version & put it on a DVD myself & it looks perfect, so even if they don't fix it for the Box set i have it anyways, so take that Sony.

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Has anyone seen the back cover of BW season 8 yet? I am anxious to see it and to see who is on the discs...I am sure Sam and Darrin are on 1 and 2...but I hope Adam is one because he hasn't been on one yet... I am glad to see he got a place on the cover of the final season... I just feel people neglect him...I know he wasn't a big character, but I think in the final season he was because he was displaying powers... too bad Maurice never made a disc cover either... Gladys made one in Season 4

Left to right: Michael Medico, Billy Clift, and Rebecca Asher.

Michael co-starred in the movie 'Kiss the Bride' with Robert Foxworth who also co-starred.
Michael is also suppose to play Billy in Billy's movie (based on his book) called 'Everything's Going to Be Just Fine.'

I'm very surprised the back cover art hasn't been released yet...I really want to see it and have been looking all over the internet...

I do hope the discs are Samantha, Durwood, Tabitha and Adam...one happy family of discs!

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

I'd rather see Sam, Darrin, Endora and Larry on the discs. The 4 major characters from the beginning of the series to the end of the series.

TVShowsonDVD.com has posted the back cover art. It's so crazy seeing artwork for the 8th season! I love it though! And I like that pic of Endora with the kids.

Thanks David so much... I am so psyched about Season 8... Too bad sony didn't include any extras... Oh well it would have been nice to have some funny footage they shot or the sponsors .. David do you think they will include more on the box set?

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Well, if the IDOJ Complete Series is any indication, no

But I hope I'm proven wrong!

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

David, do you think in the boxset that Sony will include the original B&W episodes of Seasons 1 & 2? I am going to wait to purchase those just in case. Also, what would you like Sony to include in the Box Set? I would love some interviews, maybe a reason why Dick York left, and the Ranch Tour with Erin Murphy... there was also a nice Bio on Liz on A & E a few years ago... Since IDOJ had a bottle for the Box Set... what do you think Bewitched will have?

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

David is there any way you can put the back cover on here? I can't read it on tv shows.com it is small. Thanks

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Hi Ryan as far as I know it will be either later this year or in early Twenty Ten... According to Wikipedia it is 2010, but I am thinking it should be out a few months after Region 1
post #177 of 387

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

I am sorry Ryan I was looking at the Australia site for BW season 8... I bet it will be out a month or two after Region 1 which is July 14, 2009 so maybe August or September... BW season 7 came out in March 09 that was a month after the region 1 release so hopefully you guys get it in August or September Hope that helps...

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

Hi Ryan, you are so welcome... the only release that came out before ours I believe was Season 6... I believe you guys got it in March and we got it in May of 2008... I know it takes Sony forever it seems to get any info from... I am so psyched for Season 8 too and waiting for July 14... by the way do you have multi regional DVD player? I was going to say that you could order Season 8 here if you have the Multi Regional DVD player that way you wouldn't have to wait so long... and by the way I love the UK release of Season 5...isn't the box yellow? They kept using blue here in the USA...lol

Hope that info helps you Ryan

Re: Bewitched Season 8?

hi mike thanks again for info..and ya in uk season 5 was in yellow..in usa season 5 was in blue isint it?... wow sony really should use different colours rather than using same colour everytime an expecially in last season too ...i wonder what colour will uk have for final season i hope it wont be a same color that they used in previous season...ya i do have multiregion dvd player becoz i usually buy some dvds & games from usa as its not available here and i think i might order bewitched final season from usa if uk gonna release in next year or after 2 or 3 months later.I cant wait for that long....and to be quite honest i really like usa as it much better than uk in terms of products. ...tc mike and thanks
