The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks for the Roundup!

Isn't Silence of the Lambs due out on Blu-ray this week? Or was it rescheduled? If not that will likely be my only purchase for the week.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

Thanks as always Mike, and Patrick!

Yes, it's coming out on Tuesday.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

Already have Air Bud and Beverly Hills Chihuahua...watched both yesterday. Even have In the Electric Mist already, too. So I'm springing for Wonder Woman (BD) and Australia (BD) sometime in the future. I may finally get Office Space...we'll just see.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

I'll pick up Silence Of The Lambs on Blu-ray at some point when it's on sale but there's really nothing for me this week.

Thanks for the prices though, guys!

+1

The wife wants to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahus" so I'll probably rent and wait for BBV to add it to on of their "x" for $20 promos.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

I just looked at the Best Buy print ad in my Sunday paper. They list the Wonder Woman 2-disc at $22.99, not $24.99. I may go there instead of Target; I haven't had a superhero action figure since I was a kid (back when they were still called "dolls for boys"), and my wife can roll her eyes at me when she walks into my home office and sees the mighty Amazon sitting on my desk, keeping me company.

That price of $22.99 is correct, Peter. BB.com has it listed at $24.99 for some reason. I will put the flyer price in the grid above.

While it was on my new release lists...when I checked mid-week neither Amazon or Best Buy had this release available. Best Buy still doesn't...but now Amazon has it up for $23.99. We'll have to see.

It's coming out this week I think.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

I don't know about All Together Now, but for anyone interested in Certifiable or The Red Piano, those are Best Buy exclusives (i.e., you won't find 'em cheaper elsewhere).

I have Certifiable on BD and it's fantastic. They actually showed it on PBS last night, so watch your listings if you want to check it out.

Aaron et al.,

All Together Now is also (nearly) a Best Buy-exclusive. It is also sold at Criquie du Soleil shows.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

For those looking for Silence of the Lambs Blu-ray and have a Fry's Electronics nearby, you can order it from their website for $17.99 and use (the apparently new) free in-store pickup. Much better deal than Amazon.

You might want to note that the Key to Time is only at Costco in the online format. I went there yesterday and they had nothing.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

If your Costco is like my local BJs Warehouse Club store, it'll probably show up...eventually. It seems as if single title new releases usually show up on time at the warehouse clubs...but compilations/box sets take a little longer.

Give it a couple days (would be my recommendation)...although I don't know if I've ever seen Doctor Who titles in a B&M of any sort. I don't ever go looking for them...but I still think I'd notice them somewhere with all the looking I do.

Best Buy has them regularly. I've also seen them at B&N. And a couple of years ago, I saw a selection at Sam's, of all places.

OTOH, this is the Rocket City, with a higher than average geek population.

I used to leave out any Doctor Who releases from the Weekly RoundUp as I had no idea what they were. I still don't, actually. But I started to include them when a fair number of readers would post about them here--saying that they would be on their shopping list for the week.

The good doctor seems to have a pretty fair following!

That's pretty darn good for $5 extra...

Providing, of course, you're a fan of the show. And, if you're not, why are ya buyin'?!?

Thanks, Eric!

Re: Weekly RoundUp 3-3-2009

Was in my local BJs Wholesale Club last night and saw the following discounts:

Fireproof DVD $19.29 minus $10 = $9.29.

Pineapple Express DVD $19.29 - $10 = $9.29.

Wanted BD $25.99 - $10 = $15.99.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa BD $27.99 - $7.50 = $20.49.

Forgot to write down the expiration dates of the deals from the shelf tags.

I got me a copy of Fireproof, though!
