Re: Do men like music more than Women?
I'd say (for the most part, but not always) men tend to take our hobbies more "seriously" than women -- well, we're certainly more willing to spend the $$$ anyway (probably because we tend to be the ones w/ more of it).

But one could probably easily argue that's in very large part that way due to our (millenia-old) socio-economic-cultural circumstances. However, I'd think the biological diffs (and all the various implications) also factor into the equation. The whole reproductive process certainly puts a serious spin on how things could likely turn out for instance.
But anyway, wrt music itself, don't forget there's this little other side of *making* the music itself too, rather than simply appreciating it however admiringly so.

The population of musicians (both pro and amateur and maybe also those who only sing in their showers

) surely is no longer dominated by men as much as it used to be. And if women didn't like/love music as much, would that population really shift (to become more even) as it apparently has? Afterall, it's not like there's a whole lot of financial motivation and job security involved for the great majority of musicians out there -- only a very tiny percentage overall actually make enough as musicians to be considered middle class or above near as I can tell. And good musical instruments are not exactly cheap either even at the amateur level nor are quality music lessons, especially in/around a big city, so one doesn't take up the "hobby" (and keep at it) too lightly.
