If you haven't seen the previews, catch it.. Jamie Barber (Lee Adama) as a detective, and it's probably the first real original life in the series in a while.

I -LOVE- the court scenes

Re: Law And Order (UK)

Here's hoping it makes its way back to the US, whether on TV or DVD. I admit, I'd also like to see the Russian and French versions - supposedly Richard Belzer (who lives in France when not shooting SVU) has already showed up as Munch in the French version.

The French version is more L&O: CI

Anyway, back to the UK version, here's the trailer:

This is now airing on CityTV in Canada.

Just a great series.  It's a great twist on the Law & Order Franchise. and considering how god-awful SVU has been this year, and over-the-top the original has been, it's good to see one in the franchise go through real storytelling of crime.  Some episodes are really, really good (Episode 9, "Hidden" is one of my favorites).

Great stuff, really.   Dick Wolf has said their may be a crossover episode at some point, which series I don't know.

The DVD Release is scheduled for Jan 4.

Awesome news, Matt, thanks for the heads up.  I shall be checking this out on my local CityTV feed for sure, as well as looking for previous episodes to catch up.

Are they still just Anglofying early episodes from the mothership? The first season was entirely composed of reworked Americal L&O scripts, if I remember correctly.

A lot of the older scripts re-written and then updated with the new time frame.  But considering the time period they draw on (92-97) is what I believe the best of L&O, I'm more then OK with the updated versions.. :)

Classic L&O, probably anything before Elisabeth Rohm showed up, is the best, but I've been liking the last few years of the Mothership as well, since they got rid of DA Foghorn Leghorn and changed Connie's hair. They also have the advantage of twenty years of backstory to -- carefully, subtly -- work off of, like that episode a few weeks back.

I'd also like to see the UK stuff, and see if I can figure out the original episode it's based on, and enjoy how it's been UK-ified.
