I had decided on using hardboard (Masonite) for my theater room ceiling since I did not have enough headroom to put in a suspended ceiling. I started attaching the hardboard to the furring strips when I accidentally hit it with my knuckles and heard a resonant thump not much different from tapping the cone of a woofer.
Do you think I will have problems with the different panel pieces on the ceiling resonating with the movie audio, and do you have any ideas on how to damp out any such vibrations? Such as glue strips of wood here and there to the uppersides of the panels?
Or did I make a fatal mistake in choosing that kind of ceiling material?
