Any opinions on a 26" LCD?

I'm really just looking to pick up a cheap LCD to use while I'm out of town in an apartment, then either bedroom or pc monitor use when I get home. I have narrowed it down to 2......I think!

Any opinions on these, or other suggestions?

Consumer Reports March 2009 has ratings. I don't know what the current sale prices are for these, but their top 5 were

Panasonic TC-26LX85
Insignia NS-LCD26-09
Viewsonic N2690w
Sony Bravia KDL-26M4000
Samsung LN26A450

I am looking to get an inexpensive TV to replace the one my son currently uses whose ability to show color died a number of months ago.

Re: Any opinions on a 26" LCD?

The Panasonic is virtually impossible to find and I'm not sure if even the one's I've seen are new production models -- HH Gregg is the only retailer I've found that still has any in stock ($550-650) and most of the boxes I've checked are Spring 2008 manufacturers date. A very nice set though.

Samsung 26A450 is pretty easily available, but rarely on sale (almost always (550-650 even online stores) though the advance Best Buy circular from Sunday looks like finally has this model at a significant discount of $480.

I wouldn't put the Insignia and Viewsonic in the same class.

The Sony is also a nice set and should be dropping to under 500 soon with the new 2009 models coming out soon -- I suspect the same reason the Samsung is finally at a decent price.

The odd thing is that many of the 720p 32 inch models are about the same price spot.
