Buying the Samsung HL67A750 today!

Well glad i waiting a couple of weeks! Leon's has this tv on special today for $1984 (that's canadian for all you USers )or something no payments for 23 months....

how can you say no!

looking forward to getting this home, i will have to wait until they deliver it, and get it going. Going to be a big change from my 35" rca that i bought in 1997 for 2600$!!

well it maybe soon. Here the reg price is $2699, today $1984....

pretty good.

I did not go with the extended warranty though... hopefully i will not need it.

Sounds like you got a good deal on the set but what did you pay for the extended warranty? The seller probabley made more on the warranty than they did on the sale of the set.

What doom and gloom story did they give you to get you to bite on the warranty. When I purchased my Sony at a Sony Style store they spent more time trying to sell me a warranty than they did showing me the set. In fact two salesman even ganged up on me and it almost cost them the sale.

He said he did *NOT* buy the EW.

Also, that $1984 he mentioned is in Canadian dollars. At the current exchange rate, that comes out to ~$1587 in US dollars, which is definitely the best price I've seen so far. In the US, Electronics Expo has it for ~$1660 right now, but they charge a hefty sum for shipping that essentially kills most of the savings (vs their competitors) -- if you're in the NJ/NYC area, maybe you can arrange for pickup save on shipping from them.

Anyway, congrats, Shane, on the new 67". I'm sure you'll love it (at least for HD content), especially since you're upgrading from the dinky 35". Just don't expect the exact same apparent sharpness for SD content compared to your old 35" though -- something that a lot of people don't realize when they first upgrade to a much bigger display.

My local CC had several of these for around $1700. Obviously this is a big YMMV

delivery tomorrow!!

got my cable today, moved everything around... caused electronic chaos in my house... but it is good.

yeah i know about the sd. have to call cogeco (cable provider ) and work out a deal for HD.
