Feature Requests

Parker,

A couple of minor feature requests

* Love the thread-preview feature: hover over a link and a balloon shows the first few sentences of the thread. Alas, this doesn't work well for official DVD review threads, since you get a balloon filled with HTML code from the reviewers' table formatting. Could this be tweaked to strip HTML from the preview balloon to show only "text"?

* I've seen some other sites that do an auto-search for related topics when the user enters a title for a new thread. It's actually useful in helping to find related threads or even answering the question without a new thread.

Thanks for listening!

Just saw this feature while making a new thread. I don't know if it's an old feature and I'm blind, but I'm glad to see it

Dave:

1) I have updated the code to the preview function.

2) I have updated the auto-search.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: Feature Requests

Is there any way to make the balloon feature work on the main HTF page in the "Recent Threads " area? This would be very helpful since the widely varied nature of these posts makes it harder to deduce the subject from the abbreviated subject line.

Thanks.

Maybe I just can't see it, but is there an option to jump to different forums like there was on the old version?

Hi Ray,

We're in the process of getting this added.  I'll keep you posted when we get it online.
