Sold my old Adcom gear and am looking for a solid receiver that can switch A/B speakers with a remote (I'll be using a Logitech Harmony).
(2) Happy running 4 ohm speakers for the near future, until I get my amps sorted out.
(3) Also needs HDMI 1.3 and all that entails including TrueHD and DTS-HD.
(4) Needs amplifier pre-outs, ideally for all channels, as I'll eventually use it just as a pre-amp.
Would like to stay under $1000. Am test driving a Yamaha RX-V863 at the moment, thought about the Pioneer Elite VSX-03TXH next, maybe an Onkyo 806 as well although the demo'd models I've looked at seem to get really hot even running 8ohm speakers! Also found a gently used Denon 3808ci for under $1000 that might do the trick (?) but hey, it's used.
