Now if we could get more Gimme a Break!

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Barbara,

Add me to the Adam-12 'ing list. Great news. It's a good thing that Shout! got this liscensed from Universal, otherwise Adam 12 would have gone "Code 7" for life.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

I was starting to get worried that Adam-12 had been abandoned again.

But, with a third season, we'll be close to the halfway mark, and if we're really lucky, Adam 12 might even be done before Emergency!

...now what about Dragnet?

...or The F.B.I.? for that matter.

Glad to see this series is back on track.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

This is awesome news. I love this show, and I really like how Shout! is handling it. The special features are very interesting as well.

"One Adam-12, one Adam -12, see the man eagerly waiting the arrival of season 3". Glad to hear this, I was starting to get a little nervous as well.

I am so in for the entire run. Yes, i would even buy season 1 again. Just to have it on single sided discs...that work!

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

I would love to see The FBI and 77 Sunset Strip.

Rick,

And I as well. I hope that we can get word to them on this as they are progressing through the seasons.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Why more Adam-12 as its parent show Dragnet is ignored? Makes no sense!

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Hope they try to get the Adam-12 crossover episodes of Dragnet and D.A. included in that or a future set, just like I'm hoping Universal gives us the Emergency crossover episode of Sierra like they did with a Adam-12 episode in the most recent Emergency set.

I'm a big fan of Adam-12, so for whatever reason they're using to ignore Dragnet, I'm glad as a fan of Adam-12.

I doubt that'll happen. One more season of Emergency to go (plus the movies, IF we get them) so it's a year or two before it's done. With Season 2 of Adam-12 coming out last year, and season 3 later this year, it's looks like it'll be a once a year release, which means it'll be 2013 before it's finished.

I would also like to see Dragnet and the FBI.

I would like to see the 1950s Dragnet and then the 60s version in season sets.

I second the call for Gimme A Break but doubt it will happen unless they continue in Canada.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Well, nobody's bumped this up so I will as we have an August 11 date announced for S3. I'm not one of those who's been a big fan of Shout! because of late they've been releasing titles of minimal to no interest for me while abandoning the one I was most interested in ("Ironside") but I'll be first to give them credit when they come through with something I can feel good about and continuing this show at least tops the list.

S3 will give us the memorable episode "Elegy For A Pig" and if ever there was an episode of the series that deserved a Martin Milner commentary, this one does, but if not, I can live with it since I'm just glad the series is continuing.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Yeah, same here. I'm glad two of the three big Jack Webb shows (Emergency and Adam 12) are slowly coming to their final seasons on DVD.

I know this sounds like a little kid wanting everything, I just wish Adam 12 could be released a little quicker than (roughly) a season a year. If nothing else, get Adam 12 out in time to finish up when Emergency does in a year or two.

And speaking of Dragnet... I'd love to see that continued on DVD as well, or the long unseen B&W Episodes finally get some legit, non PD full season releases. However, over time, IMO, Dragnet 6X didn't hold up as well as Adam 12. In fact, I'd say I enjoy Adam 12 much more now than Dragnet 6X, and would like to see Adam 12 finished up before Dragnet starts up again.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

I think the only episodes of Dragnet that suffer are the S3 "community affairs" shows which often come off as training films for the department than examples of good storytelling (a nice exception though being Burt Mustin's guest turn as the landlord of an apartment building where a murder takes place). S2, which has yet to make it to DVD is the real key season that needs to get out with the great remake of "Big Little Jesus" and the episode of Friday before the Review Board.

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Honestly I'm happy to see s3 of adam 12 comming in august, Im unhappy it shout is releasing and I also worried about quality short cuts they might take , s2 of adam was a noticablely poor quality of capture (audio and video) than the s1 universial release and with rhoda hack job I got to wonder if their remotely serious about being a quailty dvd set producer any more. Well see how it reviews.

Great news Jack, thanks for letting us know. And I agree completely about "Elegy For A Pig"...one of the best written pieces of drama ever put on film. Getting Marty Milner to do a commentary would be outstanding, but I'd be happy just to hear a vetern LAPD cop talk about the show (like Shout! had with S2).

Re: More Adam-12 in 09

Very glad to see that Shout is moving ahead with Season 3 - will definitely be picking this one up.
