Survivor: Tocantins - Page 3

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I'm still waiting for my insurance claims settlement, and my TV of choice hasn't gone down in price since Super Bowl week (now $300 more than during SB week sales, plus the tight economy is making large purchase decision more difficult than before), so I'm in waiting land.

I like Erinn in that she can't hide her feelings of glee.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Friggin' insurance companies. Are you looking at the Kuro or something more earth priced?

I really want to like Erinn because she the cutest girl left, but she is doing nothing to deserve it. She seems to be sitting around and flapping her gums but getting nothing done. She should be working some sort of alliance, but she's just hanging around waiting to get voted off. At least Debbie has an alliance with Coach.

At this point, the only people playing the game are Brednan and Taj. Coach thinks he is, but he's like some over his head WWI General getting his troops killed with his incompetence.

I'm more into staring at Sydney at the moment.

I feel like this season is too coach-centric. It seems like the producers and especially Jeff find him fascinating, but I think most people think he's just an annoying, delusional douche. They should be spending more time with Tyson -- he's much more entertaining, and I actually like him

This and the Megan Corkrey tattoo thing--why do you keep taking the posts out of my keyboard, Hanson? I don't understand Jeff's hard-on for Coach at all--it's sort of like Shane from Panama. Both are amusing but felt forced (especially Shane), yet Jeff is acting like they top Richard Hatch and Johnny Fairplay in the entertainment department.

Meanwhile, the real best character of the season is always lurking in Coach's shadow. Ah, Tyson. In a way I think it's good that Probst isn't obsessed with him because otherwise Tyson would be the one being shown ad nauseum even if he didn't really merit it and we'd be wondering what was so great about him.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I find Tyson and Coach to be a blast to watch. My sons and I crack up all the time at Tyson aka The Assistant and watching Coach is like a bad car wreck. Coach is so full of himself that I start laughing as soon as he opens his trap.

BTW - JT and Brendan holding up 220lbs was impressive.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Although, JT was more impressive in that he didn't drop it immediately.

Is it me or does Sydney look like a blonde Natalie Portman?

I'm sorry, but I still hate Coach. My wife hates him so much she gets pissed off when starts talking and keeps yelling, "What? That's so hypocritical!" Since everything he says is hypocritical, I hear that a dozen times every episode. We loooove Tyson though. Even when he's trying to be evil. Especially when he's trying to be evil.

It's official -- I'm dumping Erinn. Jesus lady, get over yourself. Hair extension wearing, emotional wreck, boring nose-picker. Did you see her digging for treasure before the credits?

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I cannot stomach Coach! He's one of those alpha male typs that needs to run everything and he doesn't like it when females try to take control.

Give the guy a club and some tiger skin to wrap around himself to complete the caveman ensemble why don't ya?

Plus he's got that Myles O'Keefe 80's hair that for some reason makes me want to beat the shit out of him.

Reminds me of a joke they made on an episode of MST3k while watching one of his movies...

Tom Servo
"Hey, Mike, how much Keefe is in this movie?"

Mike Nelson
"Myles O'Keefe."

He gets the blood boiling at our home, too.

I couldn't help but think as I watched this week of your side-by-side revelation that Tyson could also be the Joker. I think you're close...but just a little off, dude!

I think he's even a little MORE evil than that!

And I'll tell you...he sounds a lot like James Woods too!

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Tyson reminds me of actor Barry Pepper lol.

But he looks like Willem Defoe in Platoon in the above picture lol.

After looking through her online model portfolio, no, not really.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I actually get a Christina Appelgate vibe from her rather than Natalie Portman.

I wonder if the other players ever find out that Brendan is a multimillionaire. He co-founded a company and then sold it to Kellogg's.

Amen!!! If they had dumped Sydney for Sandy I might have dumped the rest of the season from my DVR. I'm so shallow.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Sydney's horsey smile and broad shouldered physique don't quite cut it for me. I was more glad that I don't have to see Sandy in a bikini anymore. My eyes!

Oh, and BTW, I'm not the only one who thinks Sydney looks like Portman. I've recanted that, so now no one does.

Still, she looks like exactly like someone and I can't quite place it.

Hanson,

I agree with you. I was satisfied to see Sandy go home. Could not
bear to watch her in a bikini anymore.

Very boring episode. Someone lost a tooth and that was the extent of excitement for the episode. boooo.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Why the heck was Probst so set on him keeping his tooth? It's not like he needed it. I thought that whole, tooth episode was bizarr! Boring episode.

Because the dentist who repairs his tooth can use the piece and put it back in place.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

So long Spenser, aka "Invisi-boy" in our household. Just last week my family was watching the show and Spenser walked by in a non-descript shot, and none of us knew who he was. You knew he was toast this week because he got so much air-time for no good reason: he was lousy at the challenges and appeared to not do much alliance building. I now have a stable of faves and villains to make the season interesting. First, JT is one tough hombre. He nearly won the challenge by himself and shrugged off a broken tooth (which hurts like heck) as no big deal. As a straight shooter with serious challenge skills he better watch his back, cause he's a serious threat. Against my better judgement, I like Tyson, even though he's coming across as a villain. He's comes off as a flake, but he's playing serious game. He's willing to let others be leaders, but he smelled a rat with the Taj and Brendan alliance. Initially I liked the cross tribal alliance idea hatched by Taj and Brendan but now realize it's fatally flawed. It only works if members of your foursome are the only ones that go to exile and that generates suspicion. Also you spend lots of time away from your tribe: you lose the opportunity to connect with your tribemates which makes you an easy choice to vote out when the time comes. (Look what happened to Sugar last year: she had no friends on that final jury) Taj is fun to watch but hubris and foolishness (giving the idol to Stephen) will be her downfall, and I predict it will happen soon. Coach continues to believe that he is the pinacle of human evolution despite the complete lack of any evidence to support his assumption. But dang, he's fun to watch.

I didn't think the episode was boring.

Brendan appears lucky that his team won immunity, since they seem to have figured out his secret alliance with the other tribe.

And--I'm not certain--but the preview made it look like one of those "never before seen footage", "get to know the players" type of shows. That's the kind they usually would pick to show on Thanksgiving night...so maybe that's what they will do during the NCAA tourney.
