Wow! Very hot!

I have only been watching two seasons, but I always thought "Sugar"
looked way better without all that makeup. I was horrified when I saw
her on the finale with all the makeup on.

You know Ron, if you want to see Jessica "Sugar" Kiper without any makeup on, you can rent Sex and Death 101. It stars Simon "The Mentalist" Baker. No "makeup". *wink*

I'd like to leave you with a poem...

Ben Wade, known as Coach
Lots of dribble he would quote
Dragonslayer dead

Time will forever tell
How the great dragon slayer fell
We weren't worthy, Mr. Wade
In our memories, you shall never fade

A great send-off to an amazing character. I wanted him to make the finale but I don't think he could've had a more perfect way to go out. He'll be missed.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Yeah, far too much pole talk by Jeff.

JT was playing to the jury to secure Coach's vote (if JT and Stephen are final 2). Hmmm.... wonder if JT and Stephen discuss that vote or not...

Buh bye Coach Ben Wade,
You talking in third person,
such a pompous trait.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I think I need a shower to wash off all that bullshit that Coach has been spewing tonight (Well....the entire season actually ). The man is a martyr/drama queen/lying SOB all rolled up into one arrogant package. The way he was carrying on like if he were a broken man all throughout the episode.....my god man - show a little restraint, you're not fooling anyone with the wounded act!

That said.....it's too bad he's gone. Then again, there's only one episode left. I wonder what he'll have to say at final tribal council? It will certainly be a lively reunion show too. Can't wait.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Here lies the body of crazed Coach Wade.
A sad pathetic man whose light doth fade.
A proud and strong warrior not
as tonight he proved but a weak lot.
When the going got tough, the tough got going;
as the rest of the tribe wasn't buying what he was snowing.
He's strong! He's weak!
He definitely had a big beak!
And now he joins the others vanquished
as so many members of the audience wished.

What a long, strange trip. The look on Probst's face at one point seemed to suggest that Coach's welcome had long worn off. I think it was just after Erinn's tirade about Coach the martyr.

I agree with Patrick that the talking-in-the-third-person-thing seemed to reach new heights in this episode.

JT may be playing Stephen pretty slick with his vote tonight. By saying that he promised Coach he wouldn't vote for him--and then sticking to it (knowing that Coach was toast--JT probably picked up a pretty definite jury vote tonight.

All HIIs are now out of play....right? They can't be used any more? Or can they still be played at the next tribal council? Seems to me they should be "done."

I believe Jeff mentioned it just before the vote. Which makes me wonder why nobody (Taj or Stephen) used it tonight.....wouldn't it have been a good idea to put it out there to cover one's ass just in case there was a different blindside in the works? You can never be too secure in this game....especially when you're this close to the end.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I, for one, wish Coach would have been voted out a long time ago. His raging narcissism is amusing for a few episodes, but I found it just really grating after a short while. I think Erin and Stephen nailed his actual reasons for not eating or having a fire while in Exile; he couldn't start a fire or provide food for himself.

I like JT, and would like him to win....but I also think a very smart move on the others' part would be to oust him in the next immunity, if possible. They should all know they don't have a chance of winning against him. Stephen, particularly, should be trying to go to the final two against Erin, as she seems to be almost universally hated.

No, Patrick, that was GOLD! I was ROTFL the entire time! You could tell he was doing it on purpose because they got more and more transparent. There was a line about "getting your pole as long as you can" that had me crying. "JT reaching for his bag" was also priceless.

Yes, JT's vote for Erinn was his suck up to Coach for his vote. But that was nullified by Stephen's deciding Coach vote, which was a suck up to the two ladies. Stephen's smart -- that's two votes he was cultivating to JT's one. Evil Wizards can plainly see that 2 > 1.

Anyone catch Coach's Jesus On the Cross pose as they cut away from Exile? Genius. This is a great spot for Coach to leave, as he essentially only misses one episode but allows us to finally get him out of our system before the finale. I can now see why Jeff was raving about Coach -- he is fascinatingly deluded and super easy to laugh at. But I don't think the Coach we've started to enjoy watching really took flight until after Tyson was blindsided. The desperation, the confidently deluded talk about the "Warrior Alliance" that was obviously shit-canned with Tyson, the drama -- it was gold (although it kind of irks me when people pronounce "warrior" like it rhymes with "lawyer" -- that I will not miss). But I think our collective hatred of the Tyson-era Coach was justified. That Coach was not as entertaining.

And all that pole talk led to the most homoerotic reward challange ever! Two guys, one bed, JT making orgasm noises in the shower, and then the lads stuffing each other with meat and sausages. I'm surprised they didn't start massaging each other before going to bed.

I have this sneaking suspicion that Taj will win F3 immunity and take Stephen to the finals. It just feels like Stephen and JT in the finals is too obvious.

And I almost forgot the best line of the night (from Coach, obviously) -- "hit me with your best shot, Pat Benatar." I laughed about that for the rest of the show. It was a total Michael Scott moment. Coach is Michael Scott without any sense of humor. Worst line -- it was something Erinn said about Coach bogarting the "worst Exile Island experience" title from her -- I mean, who the f*ck cares? This is what you're hanging on to? Get over yourself already. They set her up as such a boring, petty person that I would be shocked if she won.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

At the start I really didn't like Coach (for obvious reasons). But as the season went on, I began liking him more and more. There are only two possibilities.

1. He is a fake, and all of this is an act. If so, he was awesome. All the stories and all.

2. He is sincere, with perhaps some exaggerations of his deeds. There are years old web links of him doing a 6000 mile solo kayak trip. I'd like more proof before I say he has done them for sure, but there is a possibility he isn't a total phony. In this case, he believes what he says - whether or not these things happened, he believes they happened. I felt very sorry for him when the Assistant Coach came to visit him. I hope for his sake that this is actually a close friend, who happens to be his Assistant Coach, with the Survivor editors not labelling well. If he is not a friend, Coach has my pity, not scorn.

Definitely one of the 10 most memorable contestants ever. I can't wait for Probst's live recap show...with Coach.

Maybe in a few months he'll be able to tell about his near-death experience while in exile in the deserts of Brazil.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

They should have given Coach a proper Viking send off, have hm lay in a boat while everyone shoots flaming arrows at it.

Later dude, don't let the imaginary dragon's tail hit you on the way out.

I for one am glad that Erin let Coach have it when he volunteered for exhile, it's about time someone called him out on what he was trying to do.

I was thinking, John, that it was a little strange how concerned Stephen seemed for Coach throughout this entire episode. It would be interesting to know what was going through his (Stephen's) mind when Coach collapsed, Erinn told him off, etc.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, congrats JT!

I've only been watching this show for the past three seasons but he's the one I liked the best out of the winners i've seen.

Have to admit that I felt bad for some of the bad things i've said about Coach, I need to keep in mind that we only see these people for an hour each week for 39 days and we can't get an accurate picture of who they are as a person in that short amount of exposure.

The ladies were lookin' FINE at the reunion! Especially Sierra, I could watch her smile all day and still get all fluttery.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Sydney had little screen time, but so damn beautiful. I watched her 10 seconds twice. Heh.

Erinn has that goofy toothy smile with her glasses that did make her look like an updated "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" during the game, but then she cleaned up very well. She reminds me of a prettier Anglo-version of Vanessa Ferlito.

Good line from the true Dragon Slayer, Coach's lady friend.

JT really didn't need to agonize over any decision (as long as he won immunity) because he was just too well liked up against anyone in the final 9.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I wasn't a huge JT fan but he was the best player of the season and I called him winning after the premiere...so woohoo on that. Stephen should've picked up at least two votes...why was Sierra bitching to JT only to vote for him? Worst. Contestant. Ever. "I slayed the dragon!" Yeah, that's why you're seventh place and he's fifth. Ok.

Ironically, if Taj were telling the truth, it would've been a closer vote between JT and Erinn than with Stephen.

Best finale since Palau by far. Overall, a decent but not overly impressive season. I'm sure you're all waiting with bated breath for my rankings, which will be coming soon.

BTW, where was Coach's lady friend when they had the loved one's visiting lol? I was waiting for Jeff to question him on why he had his assistant coach come instead of a family member.

He was swaying back and forth and looked drunk. lol

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Pretty good ending to a great season. It wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be, but still entertaining.

I thought for sure the others would have talked more about Coachs crazy, untrue stories (I do NOT believe him even with that fake lie detector test). I think Coach is full of you know what. And where the hell did that fake accent come from all of a sudden? He sounded completely different at the finale than he did during the show. I will say this though, as much as I cannot stand coach, he is a pretty attractive guy.

Sierra looks a bit like a young Kate Hudson. She is a pretty girl. Steven kept weirding me out during the finale because every time I looked at him, I kept seeing Woody Allen. Too odd. J.T looked better out in the wilds than he did at the finale. Taj is gorgeous! I had no idea she was with the girl group Sisters With Voices. That is pretty cool! I like her husband too, he seems like a good guy.

I definitely think the finale could have been a bit more intersting with a further inquest into Ben "Coach" Wade's life and adventures, but I suppose you don't want to give that jackass more time then he needs, after all he kept pleading to Hollywood throughout the night. I laughed when he introduced his "friends", the author of his book, his assistant coach and his "special" lady friend. What a family unit that must be!

Glad J.T won!

Not everyone is able to travel. Especially in these times some people are not able to leave work for a few days to treck into the wilderness of brazil. I thought the same thing but know how hard my girlfriend has just to get one day off work, let alone several.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I'm glad that J.T. won. He was the most deserving out of all of them IMHO. I must say though that we were this close to seeing Erinn take the million. Stephen came off very badly in the final tribal, admitting to the jury that he would have taken Erinn instead of J.T. just made him look like a backstabbing weasel - I don't think that he would have been much better against Erinn......seeing as how the jury were still smarting from being voted off and how undecided they seemed to be, I think she could have pulled an upset win had she been in J.T's place. Thank god that didn't happen as I really couldn't stand her (even if she got prettied up at the reunion show). Whew.....

The reunion show was just not as in-depth as I thought it could have been - and what's with Jeff's fascination with J.T.'s tooth.....the guy doesn't want it......let it go.

.......Should have had more screen time with Sydney.

Looking forward to Samoa.......

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Besides his admission he likely would have taken Erinn to finale two, Stephen really crumbled during those last couple of questions at final tribal council when he tried to impugn JT's character. It really backfired on him--considering that the actual vote was taken just moments later. Seemed pretty weaselly.

I cannot believe Probst even opened that "lie detector" paper presented by coach after Coach refused Probst's offer to give a lie detector test. It's one thing if Coach wants to feign such a test as being unworthy of his character and dismiss it as beneath him. But don't then flourish the results of a "test" that you had done on your own terms and claim to have accomplished anything. A true sociopath, that Coach. If nothing else, he deflected all available time away from Probst asking difficult questions about his stories.

I don't know even where to begin with the group that he brought to the taping. The woman did have one funny line, however. It seemed off-the cuff, but who knows?

Besides Sidney, I, personally, would have liked to have seen a little more of Candace.

And, I think Probst does a terrific job at these reunion shows. So much better than Bryant Gumbel did in those early seasons.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I think this was one of those rare instances where Stephen had no chance no matter what he said going into the final tribal. Thus, as the second place guy usually gets $100k, he should have considered that a win in itself for JT taking him and just said at the final Q&A, "I have no shot against JT, let's give him the million." and then talked up how great a guy JT was. It was his only option to look like a better guy and it clearly shows that since he didn't get a single final vote, his method didn't work.

Yeah, I don't get why no one played the immunity idol (the last time they could) either...makes no sense with all the blindsides going on.

That final breakfast scene was tipping dangerously close into Brokeback Mountain territory for a second there...

Erin cleans up niiiiiiice.

As for Coach, I have a feeling he will go down as the richest player ever in Survivor. With his personality, they will definitely ask him back if there's another All Stars. He has a book out and likely will pop up on all sorts of other reality shows and cash in.

The funny thing about Coach is that during the produced segments when he's off in the jungle talking "privately" to the camera (with a producer in the background) and doing so in such a clueless way that makes himself look like a complete ass, I was wondering, "Where have I seen this before??" and then it finally dawned on me...it was like watching THE OFFICE. He was almost doing an impression of Michael Scott, talking about what a great manager he was ("Coach") and how everyone loved him and he was the greatest. Almost down to the deadpan quotes and poems, it was as if Coach was doing an impression of Steve Carrell. That's why I have to admit that Coach may be a complete nutjob, but he's incredibly entertaining to me...much like Michael Scott!

And let us not even speak of the ill-fated reunion hosted by Rosie O'Donnell.

BTW, I just have to say, this finale definitively proved that F2 is infinitely more dramatic and interesting to watch than F3. JT's and Stephen's struggle between keeping their word or taking the easy way was the most compelling decision anyone on this show has had to make in years. If it'd been F3, we wouldn't have had that, and the decision to boot Taj probably would have been much less of a dilemma as well. F3 also would have probably eliminated the debate element Stephen and JT had going at the final TC. Hopefully the producers get it through their heads after last night being the best finale since Palau.

It was very hard to find frames where they weren't mouthing words and looking rather silly so I went with smiles, except in Erinn's case lol.

Glad JT won the whole thing. Seems like a genuinely good guy and well deserving of the $1 million prize. Very satisfying end to a good season. Not as good as last season, but still good.
