Wow.....that is some serious hate John. You must have been throwing things at the screen when Coach escaped the axe last night.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Watching the promo for next week's show (which has Coach & Tyson apparently following through on their threats to make Sierra's remaining time in camp hellish) put me in mind of a scene from Gabon.

Remember when everything was seemingly all set for how the season was going to play out...until Crystal & others started being really mean and loud to Matty? This didn't sit well with Sugar who didn't like the members of her alliance being "mean." So she switched things up again and really helped divide the power players. (I think I remember that scenario correctly. Anthony? )

I could definitely see the rest of the players turn on the ever-arrogant Tyson & Coach for making Sierra cry.

Probably not since Mike Boogey on Big Brother have I despised a player this much and this deeply.

I'm right there with you, John. I despise Coach as much as that d-bag from Big Brother. So frustrating they didn't take him out last night.

If he says "I am the dragonslayer" one more time I'm going to have a nutty!!!

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Coach = Dragon Slayer

I dislike him so much but at the same time I love when he is on screen. His crazy lines keep me laughing throughout the show. I like when he said he was the anointed one. What a tool!

I liked Brendan but he hung himself IMO when he did not get with Taj immediately after the merge. She would have had JT and Steve with her and which might have kept JT from alining with Coach.

Yep I could definitely see it happen again, although in fairness, this group doesn't have a Sugar crying every 30 seconds and making plays based on that

I don't get why people want Coach to go so badly, the longer he lasts and closer he gets to the finals, the more satisfying the blindside (and you know he's gonna be blindsided).

Speaking of Coach haters though, Brendan is launching a new organic burrito product this fall, and the first 50,000 people to sign up will get a coupon for a free burrito. But as the site notes, "This form closes with Survivor 18 concludes, or when 'Coach' gets kicked off...whichever happens first."

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Listen, I want coach out as much as the rest of you, but I have
to say it's a love/hate relationship because he's highly entertaining
to watch. The man is so full of shit (and himself).

I thought Coach was going this week because of the way the show
pumped him up throughout the episode as the "Dragonslayer." I was
surprised that it turned out to be Brendan.

The look on Sierra's face was priceless. How could she even think
that she has a chance to win this game? She should have been gone
already. In fact, before you go after coach, get this woman off the show.
She brings nothing to the table.

Have to say, I am really enjoying this season -- and this comes from
someone that felt uncomfortable with its players on day one.

Brendan's biggest misstep was to tell JT he wanted to take him to the finals. When Stephen heard that, it was all over for Brendan.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I hate coach, but I enjoy hating him.. he's great drama. I realized watching this weeks episode this afternoon that he reminds me incredibly of Gul Dukat from Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Same mannerisms, hell some of his dialog would fit

I know, I know, whole different mediums, but it's even shocking how much they look together, considering one is an actor costumed up to look like an alien.

I'm guessing that is what he is counting on, maybe not the hate but the celebrity. I read where he is seeking to use his Survivor fame to launch a television career. I wish I had saved the link but I never thought it would come in handy.

Absolutely hilarious, Hanson! I wonder if Coach will try to play that idol that he took from the temple.

We would have played it... if Belloq hadn't taken it. If only Coach knew Hovitos. Oh wait, of course he knows Hovitos. At least, he knows the phrase, "we're going to eat your asshole" in Hovitos.

That's some funny shit.

Hanson, you rule!

BTW, Erinn has a nice bod, could be hot, but the hair
just ruins it. You would think she take better care of it.

Which is ironic since her job is hairstylist.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Seems like so many hairdressers ignore their own hair.

Crazy really. It's like a billboard of their own business...even though someone else cuts it... But who'd want their hair cut by someone whose hair is a wreck?!?

The caption under Erinn in that photoshopped picture wasn't in the original screenshot. I added it for the irony.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

If you look at Erinn's bio page on the CBS Survivor website, she really is listed as a hairstylist.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Man, that episode was disappointing. Smug or not, Tyson oozed entertainment every time he was on screen. It was way too obvious that Sierra wasn't going anywhere but at least seeing her lose immunity at the last second was fun. I can't believe I thought she was going to be another Courtney from China; she's one of the most miserable and depressing people ever on this show.

I really hope Coach isn't the next one gone.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

I'm disappointed with the result, but I'm not really all that surprised.....Tyson's physical game was definitely a threat to the rest of them. It was a logical move to take him out at the first opportunity. It still sucks that that pathetic sad sack Sierra is still in the game though......she is misery personified.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

Tyson, you got schooled Survivor style.

It was nice to finally see contestants that actually thought about the end game and realizing that once a big threat doesn’t have immunity it is wise to vote them off.

Also, concerning Erin’s hair, it is not as if she has nice hot running water and all theother items needed in order to maintain that much hair. I would wager that she will look very nice at the reunion show.

I respectfully disagree. Tyson was a complete and total jackass. I couldn't wait for him to leave. His conversation with Sierra had my wife and I shaking our heads in disgust. While I am indifferent towards Sierra it's clear no one at camp seems to like her. It was like high school where everyone took turns beating down the loser kid. They kept ragging on her for making a 'wrong decision.' She was in a four member alliance and two of them switched on her. It's hardly the first time it's happened on this show. I was really waiting for her to go after Taj and find out what she had to say for herself.

That's not entirely true. There have been plenty of times where I've expected the vote to go one way based on the editing and have it go completely in the opposite direction. My wife was completely expecting JT to stick with Coach.

Sierra was completely blindsided by Tyson's blindside, but I don't know how confident she should be. Clearly no one bothered to clue her in to the vote. I assume they expected her to vote Tyson. They could just as easily keep her around for a majority vote, or dump her at the next TC. She shouldn't expect to suddenly have everyone on her side again. But I'll really enjoy watching Coach squirm.

Re: Survivor: Tocantins

My wife and I assumed the whole "let's get rid of the biggest threat" stratagem, as completely obvious as it seemed, was just a smokescreen to give some suspense to the Sierra vote off. Because they do that all the time.

While Tyson's ouster will remove the most entertaining tribe member, the fallout from this and Coach's desperation and scrambling will more than make up for it. It's better to have him twist in the wind and debase himself than just a simple blindside.

Tyson's biggest tactical error in the IC was to not set up a block with his last shot. Had he done that, he would have won and stayed at least another week. But had he stayed two weeks, then Erinn would be gone, and old Jalapao wouldn't have had the numbers to engineer something like this. It was the perfect opportunity, and I was kind of shocked they took it, because the survivors usually overthink game-changing plans and chicken out. But the reason it worked was because Stephen was behind it, and he is definitely the unassuming puppet master of that alliance. He's the reason Brendan was voted out last week.

Oh, and:
