Thread Starter
my LCD has the same issues my CRT had. bowed picture, a white lines on one side apparent when in 4:3 mode or receiving 4;3 picture..
blacks not being black but cloudy..

the picture in general ain't as it was when it was new.. looked great when i got it home from the shops and for a day or 3 .. but after 2 weeks it ain't soo nice, looks like a CRT TV now.
jesus TV's get old fast. i wonder why i bothered to buy a new one at all. i wont get another TV anytime in future if they just get bad

Re: LCD and CRT look the same to me

If your LCD has a pincushioned image, then chances are you have something set wrong somewhere, or another piece of equipment (like a Sat Box or Cable Box) is bad.

LCD's don't have keystoned or pincushioned images unless you adjust them to be that way.

Do you have a flat-panel LCD or a rear-projection LCD set? (I assume flat panel, but RPTV is more likely to have distortion).

What LCD TV is it specifically? Especially the cheaper LCDs will not have the best blacks.

I can affirm that, I have a Magnavox, the black is almost like blueish black, not the worst because it's the t.v. in the bedroom.

Then you may well have mediocre blacks. But you shouldn't have any image distortion from the TV itself. As Brett said, check any input signals, like DVD, Tivo, etc and the TV for oddball settings.
