Opinions on system

So I'm finally losing my home theater virginity, but I need you guys tell me if I'm losing it to the right system. I'm in canada where choice is limited, and items are overpriced so it makes me have to resort to backalleys. For now I've managed to find a system and a receiver from people off craigslist. All the prices below are in canadian:

RT35i Front Speakers
M1 Series Sourround Speakers
CS245i Centre Speaker
PSW250 Subwoofer ---> all for 400

Onkyo 606 ---> 460

What do you guys think? Is it a decent system for the price? My budget could go as far as a 1000, but I also live in appartment with a very small viewing room. The other system I had found was the rm6750 for 320.

Re: Opinions on system

Do the speakers have a brand name? There are countless hundreds of speakers on the market; we can't be expected to be able to identify each and every one by model number alone.

Re: Opinions on system

Those numbers look like something from Polk Audio?
I know things tend to sell higher in Canada, than here in US, so I'll say for the speakers, price isn't great but acceptable. Polk makes some decent stuff.

The price you paid for the Onkyo, is what we pay here, for a new one. Is that one new or used? Coming from CL, sounds like it's used. Not being that familiar with Canadian pricing, you'll have to determine if the deal was good.
The equipment is pretty decent. A lot of bang for the buck, with the 606.
