My G1 phone informed me this morning that it wanted to download an update.
Thinking that this was why I was paying the big bucks I merrily went along.
This afternoon I think I figured out what the update was.
A banner popped up announcing a new feature!

Seems that now, with my permission, I can choose to let my friends, some or all, check my location using the G1s GPS feature.
I declined.
Certainly I can see advantages. If I had a 15 year old kid who was out for the evening in the family car, I'd be all over the idea of GPS tracking.
But, I don't and I'm not.
