If this is the wrong location can someone tell me where to post it.

Question from my brother"
"If you have time and are able to today, then could you look up a question on the home theatre forum?

Is there a recommended UPS device that will stabilize voltage for audio/video equipment? Or should a combination of UPS and voltage stabilizer be used?"

Re: Power surges and spikes

No "voltage stabilization" equipment of any kind is required for any competently designed audio or video equipment. All that is needed is a good surge protector for lightning strikes and other catastrophic surges.

Re: Power surges and spikes

I think that a UPS for HT equipment is as important as one is for your computer equipment. And if you live in an area like me (power interruptions, surges and spikes and the odd brownout, a combination surge protector, voltage regulator UPS is a must-have.

Look for products from manufactures like APC or Belkin.
