You might enjoy it.
I'm in a different part of the Nielsen family. I do the Homescan part. Everytime we shop for something, we scan it into a hand scanner, when we get home with it. After scanning the bar codes, I enter the prices, and whether or not we got it on sale or used coupons. At the end of the week, I transmit the info to them over the computer. We get points every week for the scans and transmitting. I also get points if I do the short surveys.

You can use the points to claim different merchandise. It takes a lot of points to get the good stuff. Once I learned to use the scanner, it doesn't take long at all. I figure I'm not doing anything anyway, so I'll try it for awhile. They use the info for marketing purposes.

Well, guys, i'm not doing it.

The rep was just here and she went over everything that's involved and it simply requires too much equipment, more than i'm comfortable with.

First, and this was pretty much the deciding factor for me, they want to open the cabinet of my tv and install something on the speakers inside. Second, they want to install a rather large modem behind my tv which I do not have room for.

It's all just too much so I told her that I appreciate the chance but that I was going to pass.

So it looks like i'm going to remain an average Joe with no power at all to wield over anything lol, at least i'm in good company.

BTW, because I know Frezon is going to ask, yes, she was attractive but she had a wedding band on so.

Too bad you're not doing it, would've been interesting to find out what else goes on with Nielsen ratings. Though as noted, perhaps John is doing it and is now claiming otherwise as part of his contractual obligation to stay schtum...

It IS too bad.

Come to think of it, if we think John may be, um, not telling us the truth about actually participating as a Nielsen family...how do we know he's telling us the truth about his "relationship" with their representative!
