The ending was my biggest gripe. Why bring Cassie's mother into the mix as being alive if you're not going to bring her into the story? When the film cut to credits after the plane scene, I felt like screaming "Is that it?" at the screen. Unfortunately, Summit is never going to lock down this cast for a sequel.

Ending is insanely dissappointing. It's as though they stopped half way into the film, because not just some, but MOST of the plot is completely unresolved and we have no idea which direction it could/would/will go.The film had a very messy middle, but an ending with no resolution at all is.. blah.

It was like their financing dried up for the ending they ended up with for the film.

I just watched this on Blu-ray.
If anyone can remember. Why was a fake case given to that asian push family, then the fake syringe was tossed to a guy assuming to be a shifter? then replied with, " I guess the pop family can't be trusted."
I wanted to like this movie, but agreeing with everyone else that the ending was very disappointing and that it was a little hard to follow.

IIRC, the fake case was all about throwing off the Asian Watcher. Chris Evans character needs to introduce confusion that would obscure intentions but naturally work out in their favor. The Asian Watcher had already seen Evans's character inject himself with the serum and die, so everything with the fake case was about throwing Carver off. The death scene inside the construction site led Carver to believe that the serum was now out of play.
