Whats up guys, im new to this forum and I wanted to introduce myself and get some opinions.

I'm trying to get my bedroom set up with a nice 52" LCD TV and surround sound.
From your guys experience what would you guys recommend as far as best bang for your buck? Budget is around $1500.00 to $2000.00,

Specs i would like for the TV to have is as follows.

52" inch
1080p
120hz
50:000 to 1 contrast ratio
3 to 4 hdmi inputs

Re: Bang for your buck

How about the Sony 52" W series?

You can't go wrong with a Sony Bravia.

Re: Bang for your buck

Is $1500 to $2000 your budget for the TV or for the whole project? For a 52" screen size, the TV is going to chew up the lion's share of the money, leaving very little for the sound system. Your best options for surround sound are going to be the "Home Theater in a Box" packages offered by some of the better manufacturers like Sony, Onkyo and Kenwood. Even with these brands you are going to be compromising somewhat on features, build quality and the flexibility for future upgrades or additions to your system, but they are the only way to stay at around $2000 for a total package including a TV.

By all means also check out Samsung LCD TVs. I just set one up for a cousin of mine for Super Bowl Sunday and I was very impressed with the picture quality. (After I finished calibrating it with my copy of Digital Video Essentialis, needless to say. ) If you save a few bucks on the TV, you can spend more on the sound.

BTW, what are your video sources, and do you already own the equipment? (Cable? Satellite? HD? DVD? Blu Ray? Game console(s)?)

Regards,

Joe
