Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Yeah, no movie cash for mine...is it worth following up with BB or Fox?

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Since I already had X-3, I picked up the original X and X-2 from BB and both of them had the movie cash sticker.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

I think that was the right move! Some folks have had luck with their sets, though.

Oh well, the box set is nice regardless. It's just with Fox BDs, I feel like every penny counts!

Normally, I agree, but I think that $16 each from Amazon is a pretty good price.

I called FOX and reported the issue with the Trilogy sets not having the movie cash stickers at BB but reported as having them at other retailers
I would suggest doing the same .... waiting for a response

if the value of the movie cash is important to you I would not buy blind at Amazon

MatS: Cool, thanks for the number!

ATimson: I missed that $16 each price. The lowest I saw at Amazon was $55 for the set. Were they buy 2 get 1 free?

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

There was a brief blip in the space-time continuum during which the trilogy set was $48.xx on Amazon.

I just picked up my trilogy set at Best Buy. No movie cash on the box set, X1 or X2. X3 had it though, along with all the other movies in the promotion. I used my $10 Papa John's coupon to bring the price down to $48.29 after tax.

As Bryan said, Amazon briefly lowered the price to $48.49. (I tend to take liberal advantage of their preorder policy--preorder as soon as possible, and evaluate whatever-the-lowest-price-was a week or so before release and decide if I still want it. )

Nice. I spend far too much time trying to get similar deals, so how did I miss this? Well, thanks again for the info.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

My movie cash sticker says "when purchased through BD-Live", so do you even need the stickers? Maybe you just need the receipt info, I haven't popped mine in yet to check it out.

sorry to inform you but that is not a movie cash sticker

movie cash sticker is the one on the left and the redemption code is on the back side of it
the circular one on the right is the one I assume you are refering to and does not get you movie cash
it only directs you to see a preview of Wolverine (insert obvious jokes here) and purchase tickets with your own money in advance via BD-Live

and yes people that is the rarely found version (not mine) of the Trilogy set with movie cash on package unlike the stock BB got without

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Ah, thanks for the clarification, Mat. You are correct about the preview, although I didn't buy the trilogy because I didn't like X3, but the sticker is just for a sneak peak.

Looks like I'll be calling that number tomorrow!

However, nither of them was on the disc. The actual content of the disc was a single featurette about the history of the comic book's production, with interviews with many of the artists and writers of the comics. It was enjoyable, as I didn't know much about the X-Men comics...

I've skimmed the press release above and see the listing for the CASTING SESSION and LIFE AFTER FILM SCHOOL featurettes on disc 2 of X3. But I don't see the comic doc listed anywhere. Am I just over-looking it?

I just want to know if I should hold on to the Wal_Mart disc when I upgrade do the Blu-Ray boxset.

walmarts at it again, they advertized a bonus disk after the release of x3 and had a different docu on the disk.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Picked up 1 and 2 today at BB for $35. 2 had the movie cash sticker, but 1 did not. I didn't feel like talking to a BB employee so I just bought them and left.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

I decided to get 1 and 2 individually (don't care for the 3rd movie), but was surprised when they arrived that neither had a third disc with digital copy. Don't really care about digital copy so wasn't particularly bothered by that, just surprised. Curious: are the digital copies exclusive to the trilogy set?

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

According to Amazon's listing for X-2, there's only two discs, so quite possibly.

Steven,

Yes, the actual content of the Wal-Mart bonus is on Disc 2 of the X-Men 3 Blu-ray. It is entitled Generation X: Comic Book History.

That's great to know. I just picked up the Blu boxset, but haven't cracked it open yet...

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Anyone out there with the Samsung BDP 1200 have any issues playing the Blu-Ray X- Men discs? My Sammy 1200 will not load the X- Men discs at all, I have the latest firmware update too.

FOX just called me back
they asked me to verify the UPC on the set and confirmed that it was purchased at BB
they asked for my mailing address and phone # and said they would be sending out the movie cash
I asked if it was a known issue and they said yes
didn't give a time frame though for when I would receive it

Re: TCFHE Press Release: X-Men Trilogy Blu-Ray Collection

Can't believe I haven't picked this up yet. I love the first 2, and like most, liked the action in the 3rd, but still ticked off at Singer for leaving & at Marvel for letting them do what they did with Cyclops. Really stupid.

However, the real shame with this set is that most of the special features in the first 2 films aren't in HD. Wonder if we'll see them in HD in a double dip down the road? Oh well, I'll probably still buy this. I do like the films.

I doubt it, if for no other reason than I don't see X-men 3 as being worth its second trip back to the well, much less a third. It's probably just a function of their age; the first two movies are 9 and 6 years old, remember.
