Home Theater Audio intermittent

System is as follows:

TV: Sony Bravia LCD KDL-52S4100
Home Theatre: Sony HT:SF2300
Blu Ray: Sony BDP-S350
Cable: Motorola Digital PVR

When watching Digital cable or even blu ray. Once every 5 or 10 minutes the audio cuts out for maybe 2 seconds. this happends at random times, no real pattern to it. However, whenever it cuts out the amp display changes from reading the source to "PCM 48" once the sound returns, so does the display. there must be an easy fix to this. I hope. kinda driving me crazy.

Any help?

Re: Home Theater Audio intermittent

I had that happen with a receiver about 2 yrs. back. It got worse over time, until I finally had no sound at all. I checked with an electronics repair shop, and they wouldn't even look at it. They said it's cheaper to go buy another receiver. This may not be your problem though. If it starts getting worse, you might want to think about upgrading. Hope your's is something easier to fix.....
Good luck!

It's funny you said that. The coax jack for OTA antenna on my parents HDTV literally fell off a couple months ago. They only noticed it when they suddenly could not get OTA HD. My mom called a local electronics repair shop and was told it would be cheaper to buy a new TV than to have the jack soldered back on.

What the hell do these guys do all day now and how do they stay in business?
