Please recommend an AVR for an Axiom 7.1 setup

I need to replace my HK AVR 7200 (100w/channel 7.1). I have a 7.1 Axiom speaker setup (VP 150 center, 6 ohm max 400w; M60 Ti fronts, 8 ohm, max 250w; four QS 8's, 6 ohm, max 400w, and 2 SVS subwoofers with a Samson amp) I'd like it to have at least 2 hdmi in for blu-ray and fios, and 1 hdmi out for the monitor. Which AVRs, hopefully under $1000, would be good to consider?

Thanks for your advice.

I have a similar setup, Axiom v2's with an SVS Ultra/2, hooked up with an Onkyo 705. Check out the new Onkyo 806 (or 876 if you can find it within your budget). Not sure how it will compare to the 7200, but I went from an HK 325 to the Onkyo.

How does it handle changes in audio encoding? (E.g. when watching a hi-def program in dolby 5.1, then switching to a commercial in stereo, and then back) My old HK has very annoying 2-3 second gaps of silence while it tries to cope with the format change.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The HK 325 did the same. HK says its a safety feature to protect your speakers....

As long as you configure the listening modes it will not have a problem. The trick is to set both stereo and Dolby to something (Dolby, THX, etc) for the TV input.
