When do new receivers come out?

About what time of year do new receiver models come out? A new TV may beget a new receiver and I'm considering the Onkyo 706. It's on sale at Amazon and I'm wondering if this is an occaisional sale or sell-off preparing for new models?

While I'm at it, are there receivers to avoid or models (<$1000) that are top notch? I'm sure most all receivers are good quality these days, so I'll ask about the extremes

I read somewhere that Pioneer is coming out with a 1019 in April. But as I recall, May is the main month for new receivers (I think).

Onkyo's are on sale quite often at many different authorized dealers. I like to use PriceGrabber.com to help keep me posted.

Good tip on PriceGrabber. I found a good price at an authorized dealer I didn't know about

Looks like the current x06 line came out last Spring, so they're probably ~3 months from refresh.
