How do I see dish programming more than one day at a time? Is there something like a TV Guide that I can look at the whole week? Also, is dish broadcasting the Super Bowl? What channel?
Depending on which receiver or DVR you have from Dish, you can view up to nine days' programming in advance. That's what I see on my 722 and my 622 DVRs.
As to the Superbowl - assuming you can get local channels then the Superbowl will be shown on the network that carries it. I'm not familiar with how it works in areas without local access (being in the NYC area.)
Using the guide I can go forward only 2 days.
I get MSNBC, Shop NBC, & CNBC but no regular NBC.
There are no local channels available.
I checked on-line and it only goes till next Saturday.
Good Grief - I have 250 channels plus the HD package. You would think I would get one of the most watched television event of the year.
No NBC and you will be SOL as far as the Super Bowl. That sucks. Are you close enough to an NBC affiliate to pick it up with rabbit ears or some other type of antenna?
According to Antenna Web there are 2 stations 20 miles from here. It would require having a decent antenna with amp which I don't have. I tried rabbit ears but couldn't get anything. I guess I will have to watch at my Mom's. She has the local cable, but only a 25" crt. Oh well.
Did you sign up for the $6/month local channel option? Most areas are covered, and those that aren't get affliates from a larger area (mainly NYC and LA, I believe)
When we had Dish (we have Direct now), local programming was not available for us either. Then, they came up with a fee for 'local local' (as they called it). I remember that I had Dish during the 2004 Olympics, and it was not fun missing out on virtually all of the events.
Sorry for posting in an old thread but Dish is rolling out HD local channels as they can make them available. That's pretty much how it went when they first started carrying local channels. If you don't have your local channels yet you should soon. In the meantime I believe the 722 and 622 have available connections for an antenna so you can at least use your DVR to record programs from your antenna.
