For those of you you don't know, Kajsa Vikman is the markething director at Lionsgate, who said some very retarded things in this article:

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

It kinda reminds me of the article seen in this thread:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...erner-etc.html

Any yes, those are some very retarted things that were said about ALF DVDs.

Yep, the versions of the ALF on the DVDs (which are even shorter than how they aired in syndication) are "better-produced, cleaner and tighter and better edited compared to the original versions."

NOT!

She's either lying or she believes what she's saying. Either way, it's not good.

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

Everyone at Lions Gate should be in maximum security prison for the ALF DVD sets.

Think someone will redo them now that you can get the cut versions for free with basic cable thanks to WGN America?

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

I also find it very hard to believe that it was "the version that the creators preferred." I mean, how could Paul Fusco prefer the version of "Come Fly With Me" that lacks the hilarious line "A toaster's the thing you put toast into. A blender's the thing you put cats into!"?

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

The creators never said anything. But at the time, ALF was rerun nowhere and fans (especially those who missed the uncut Odyssey reruns and didn't tape the network run) were happy for crumbs off the table.

And these are the same people who gave Dane Cook and Larry the Cable Guy film careers. They're in no position to judge quality.

We won't get anything better until their contract runs out.

Yes, I agree that the comments made my Kajsa regarding ALF are laughable!
Sorry, I am not sure what you mean when you say that she said some very retarded things??

The comments made about 95% of the fans not caring if the shows are cut are also laughable. I think that must have been reversed by accident.
95% of fans DO care if the shows are edited. It may not be that high, but I would certainly think that most people who are spending money for movies/tv shows on DVD, would prefer the content to be
UN edited with the full version intact!

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

I think this needs to be merged with the existing ALF thread.

Is there anyone out there who would buy syndicated cuts but not unedited versions? No.

Re: Wanna see something really funny?

The link to this article is dated as 2005.

Why did 2 different threads from this obscure 4 year old article appear here within just a few days of each other?
