How can I tell if my Panasonic TH-42PX60U Plasma has/is compatible with 24p?

I'm going to buy a Blu-Ray player soon, and I keep reading about TV 24p film frame compatibility. Is it important to have it on your TV with Blu-Ray? If so, how do I tell if I have it (not in specs.)? Also, will I see a noticeable difference on my 42" plasma (1024W X 768H) with Blu-Ray?

Your plasma (2 years old) is not capable of accepting a 24p signal (it'll rely on doing a 3:2 pulldown on the 24 fps material on your plasma at 60Hz). BDs won't look any worse, so it can't hurt.

Thanks, Patrick. Can you give me a brief explanation of 3:2 pulldown? I've heard the term before, but I'm not sure I understand it.

To get 24fps material (movies) to display on a 60Hz TV, the TV has to apply a 3:2 pulldown on the material so it still looks like 24fps on the screen.

(look at the "24p vs. NTSC video")
