PhlatLight LEDs Drive NextGeneration Pocket Projectors
Las Vegas, NV, Consumer Electronics Show, January 8, 2009 – Luminus Devices today announced that it achieved brightness levels with its PhlatLight® LED PT39 chipset to power the new Acer K10, an easytocarry and lightweight pocket projector. PhlatLight LEDs offer high levels of brightness and performance not available today in pocket projectors using traditional lamp technologies.
The PhlatLight LED PT39 chipset is designed specifically for projection systems that use microdisplays ranging from 0.4” to 0.55” with individual red, green and blue LEDs and work in conjunction with Texas Instruments’ digital light processing technology. The combined technologies enable PhlatLight LEDs to work more efficiently in the Acer K10, making the projector an ideal mobile companion for instant projection anywhere.
“PhlatLight LEDs are ideally suited for the new, compact Acer pocket projector because they are the brightest and most reliable light source giving business road warriors and video game enthusiasts vibrant and vivid images,” said Matt Mazzuchi, General Manager, Projection Display Business Group, Luminus Devices. “Ecofriendly PhlatLight LEDs are far superior to traditional lamp technologies because they never need to be replaced throughout the lifetime of the pocket projector.”
“The K10 is Acer's first projector that utilizes revolutionary PhlatLight LED technology, and emits high brightness of up to 100 ANSI Lumens for clear and detailed images,” said Victor Chien, director, Digital Display Business Unit, Acer Inc. “As part of Acer’s continued drive to offer greener and more environmentally friendly products, LED lamp technology is free from hazardous substances such as mercury or halogen gases and consumes less power than traditional lamps.”
Luminus will be demonstrating the new Acer K10 at CES, January 811 in Suite #4118 at the Las Vegas Hilton. To schedule a meeting with a Luminus spokesperson or for more information contact Bill Keeler or Nicole Slein of Schwartz Communications at (781) 6840770 or luminus@schwartzpr.com.
