Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

I have seen where a few people here still haven't recieved their Season 2 Voulme 1 replacement yet. I was going through some stuff today and found the envelope mine came in. It has a contact name and number, at least I think it is a number. It is Jackie Morales and the number is 661-702-5000

Hope this helps. Please post if it does!

Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

A question for Fugitive gurus !

I thought the opening scenes were the same until season 4 when it went to color, but apparently was done in season 2.

Did they make any changes in seasons 3 or 4 opening ??

I really prefer season 1 !!

The Season One opening featured Kimble & Gerard on the train, then the train wreck, and Kimble emerging from the creek leading to the opening credits. There were two versions of that opening, one longer than the other. The long opening starts with William Conrad saying "Name...", whereas the shortened on starts with an extra word, "The name..."

Season Two was where they began to use the still screenshots to tell the story, lifting the one-armed man stuff from "The Girl From Little Egypt" and the running through the alley scenes from Kimble's dreams in "Nightmare At Northoak".

They kept that opening for Season Three, and even Four, but in Four, they had to color the black & white photos. Each still had its own color scheme. Somewhere back in this thread or another, I posted my own recreation of those colorized screens.

Seasons One through Three all used the "tilting" device on the credits, as if each were a card, tilting in and out of the frame, over top of the picture.

Season Four in color came up with the "pixelated-rip" device where the credits would peel from the upper left to the lower right, so it wasn't exactly the same as the old, but the opening screen shots were the same.

Apparently, you me and Tina all received our replacement set the same day.

I also prefer and miss the original opening. Wish also that I could skip the 'teaser/spoiler' sequence. Outside of "The Outer Limits" I don't know of many shows that featured this. Does this hold for the remainder of the series, I wonder?

Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

I too prefer the Season 1 opening. It's too bad they changed it for the rest of the series.

I also don't like the teaser in the beginning. The Warner Bros shows like Maverick and Cheyenne have it as well. (Though on a very few number of episodes of Maverick, the teaser is an actual new scene, a prologue for the upcoming story.)

When did you guys send in the form? (I tried and failed to look through older posts.)

I sent mine in the first week of March and nothing yet.

I believe I sent it in very close to the time that you did, no later than March 10th or so.

A colleague of mine mailed hers in March 14th. It arrived this afternoon!

4 weeks.

The Replacement Form said, "...within 4-6 weeks"

Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

The advertising for the offer did I think say "2 to 6 weeks" so at this point we're seeing some of us get it within the minimum while others I guess are suffering from the maximum.

It was here when I got home, so the batches thing seems to be true.

Now, would CBS lie to its faithful fans?

Kimble wants you to THINK the thread is dead - but it's just to throw Gerard off the track.

Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

Finally finished off Season 2 volume 2. A great ride marred somewhat by blaring Heyes music. There were several episodes that I had not seen before such as A.P.B. A nice experience to have "new" episodes.

Eagerly awaiting news of Season 3 volume 1.

There are already place holders for Season 3 Volume 1 and Season 3 Volume 2 on the Amazon web site.

Incredibly, there's already a 1-Star "Review" complaining about the music. Some folks have too much time on their hands...
or they simply love to see their nom de plume in print.

(Please, let's try not to open a Can O' Worms argument over Season 3 musical speculations. )

Nom de plume(pen name) is appropriate considering "chemin de fer" is seen on train wreck sequence in Season 1...

Sez I: Why not?
How about: I hear CBS is ripping out the entire score -- including the opening and closing credits -- for a score by Philip Glass played entirely on spoons and kazoos!

That's right...go ahead...drive the price up...clear the Best Buy shelves, so we have to fight for the one remaining copy in stores come September.

Re: THE FUGITIVE - Season 2 Volume 2

Just found some info to equip us Fugitive fans in letting our voices be heard!

It's time to take action … The Fugitive needs OUR help! We need to get the word out and demonstrate to CBS/Paramount that there is a very strong fan base for The Fugitive and we want a release worthy of this great show: intact and complete with ALL of the music restored!

The most important action we can take is to send letters to CBS requesting the release of The Fugitive as originally brodcasted with all of the music restored, including the song in "Ballad for a Ghost'!. Our letters indicating the displeasure to the recent destroyed release of Season Two and the request for a release with all of the origianl music intact will make CBS aware of just how profitable a proper DVD release of The Fugitive could be. Please also make yourself heard via a voice message, tvshowsondvd.com and the various message boards on the internet.

Send your letters to:

CBS Home Entertainment
ATTN: Ken Ross, Exec. VP & General Manager
1700 Broadway, 33rd Floor
New York, NY 10019

Leave a Voice Message:

(212) 975-3241 When transferred to an operator, ask for Ken Ross.

Yep. That's me being quoted at the start of the story. (-as mentioned in the other current thread).
