I have the onkyo 560 receiver. I also have directv and I'm trying to program the remote to control the receiver. There are 5 or 6 codes and the second will allow the remote to turn the power off but nothing else. The directv remote will only turn it off, it wont control the volume or turn it on. Any ideas why this isn't working or other options.
The onkyo remote controls everthing but doesn't have the record,play,ff, rewind buttons like the directv remote.
One more thing, I looked and looked, does this receiver work w/ rf remotes or do I have to or is it possible to add an rf antenna. I was looking at some of the more expensive remotes that controlled everything but really wanted the play,ff,stop etc.. buttons. Is there a remote out there like this and does this receiver work w/ rf remotes? I cant find anything about the rf and have found a few options for the remote but not exactly what I'm looking for.
