Kurosawa?

Hi guys and gals!

Does anyone have any info on any upcoming Kurosawa releases, specifically his more well-known titles like Ran, Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, etc...

These films BEG to be on blu-ray. Kurosawa paints in the corners, and this material would look fantastic on blu.

Does Criterion own the rights to distribute all their DVD material on blu? Can we anticipate these titles from them in the future?

Also, does anyone know of any of Kurosawa's material released on blu overseas? I'd be happy to import and pay a premium for Kurosawa.

Criterion should have no rights issues with releasing any Kurosawa films on BD that they have released on DVD. Rumor is that they are already working on a few, including Ran and Rashomon.

I've heard rumors about Ran coming out sometime "soon" but no firm information yet. Hopefully we'll see something before the end of the year.
