Problem switching from hd to regular

Hi,
I have a Panasonic TH50PX60U. Over the last few months it has started getting an offset picture when i go from an hd channel to a regular station(The side of the picture is in the middle of the tv). I have to turn the tv off then on again then the picture returns to normal. I have comcast cable running an hdmi cable to my box. What is wrong and how much does it cost to fix? Is my tv in danger of dying?

weird
Just keep the cable box with a fixed 1080i output.
