Re: Bang For The Buck?***

yeah sorry my question is pretty vague. im just wondering what everybody over here thinks is the best tv to be bought at the moment (under 50 inches) that offers the most bang for the buck in terms of price and performance.

i know my question is very vague but opinions is all im asking. not trying to get too technical.

there should be lots of discussion about this topic already posted.

Re: Bang For The Buck?***

It all starts with your budget(that you didn't mention). Are you looking for an LCD, DLP, plasma?

Re: Bang For The Buck?***

Well, if you're looking for a great value <=50", I'm guessing the Panny TH50PX80 (50" 720p) plasma would probably make an easy candidate considering you can probably find one for under $1K w/out much trouble. That's the one getting all the raves lately from the bargain hunters around these parts -- and I probably would've gotten one for myself too (at <=$900) during the crazy holiday season sales, if I needed/wanted a new display that's <=50". You might also consider a competing Samsung plasma w/ similar specs (and pricing) too, if you prefer Samsung.

Of course, I'm assuming you don't plan to sit closer than ~10ft from the display (or you might want to consider the 1080p version for maybe ~$300 more instead). And I'm also assuming you won't find something like a $$$ Pioneer Kuro plasma to be a great "bang for the buck".

As a happy owner of this TV, I whole-heartedly second the recommendation. X-Box 360, Wii, S550 Blu-ray, standard def cable and DVD . . . it all looks fantastic. I saw it at Sears for $899 over the holidays. (I picked it up for $1200 last July.) Haven't had a single problem with it.

Re: Bang For The Buck?***

Using PriceGrabber.com I came across a cool site that lists the LCD TV Ratings of various products. I found it very useful especially if you are unsure about which product is best.

It helped me and I hope it will help you too.
