Is this possible? Do you use the line in function above the audio rca cable spots? Cause their isn't very many options, it only had enough speaker connections for the 2 it came with. I would like to connect a powered subwoofer cause it has basically no base, its a 300 watt system. I want to make sure it is possible before i spend the money on it but i don't want to have to get a new system, i just want more bass from the one i got.

Re: connecting a powered subwoofer to basic home stereo

Yes, as long as the sub has High Level Inputs and Outputs. You connect the left/right speaker wires to the High Level Inputs on the sub. You then connect your left/right speakers to the High Level Outputs on the sub. Then you can use the subs crossover.
