Blue Ray hook up

Hello,
This is my first post, so please be a bit forgiving.

I have a samsung dvd recorder disc player hooked up to my 32 in 1080i samsung tv using the HDMI 1 port. Every thing works fine.

My brother just gave me a sony BDP - S301 disc player. Can I hook this up to the TV's HDMI 2 port? Will Blue Ray offer any improvement in picture? Does the HDMI cable take care of Video and Audio needs?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Blu-Ray should look fantastic. You will have to decide if DVD's look better.
