Wireless Home Theater Network

Thread Starter
I am a newbie and this may be a dumb question, so I apologize in advance.

I have a PC that has a TV tuner card and I want to connect it to my TV. Also, I have another PC with all of my movies, music, pics, etc. that is in another part of the house. It is too far for cat5 cables so I would like to add it to my wireless network.

Is this as simple as adding a wireless adapter or wireless NIC and accessing through my wireless router or do I need a wireless bridge in order to access the media files on the other PC?

If the answer is neither then any additional info and/or advice on the recommended product would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Wireless Home Theater Network

Hi,

You can add a wireless card to your other pc and access it from your wired box. You will need to share the files from your other computer. You can also setup some media sharing software like Windows Media Center or TVersity.

Since your PC is far away, you will need a decent wireless card. The further away you get, the lower the throughput.
