You're asking for our favourite episodes from Season 9 or episodes from any season of Hawaii Five-O? I didn't see a lot of the ninth season when it was shown on Granada Plus, but I very much liked "Nine Dragons" and "Assault on the Palace".

The release date for the seventh season on Region 2 DVD is now Monday 22nd March, 2010. Source is Play.com. However Amazon.co.uk still has no Region 2 release date.

Are there any other Hawaii Five-O Jack Lord episodic promos on YouTube, from seasons 8 to 12 (especially the feature length and two-part episodes)?

The Ministry of Peace website told that the man hit by the car in the episode, Dealer's Choice...Blackmail, was McGarrett's friend and the witness who decided to blackmail the killers instead of talking to the police about it, was Officer Sandi Welles' brother. I wondered how McGarrett had reacted to both pieces of information. In addition, I had hoped that viewers who had seen this particular episode could reveal more of the plot that the brief synopsis has that has been posted on the internet.

Also, does anyone have any theories on what the front cover artwork will be? Obviously it will have Danno, Duke and Chin Ho along with McGarrett, but being as the last two front covers (for the sixth and seventh season sets) had nighttime scenes I've been wondering waht CBS DVD will do for the eighth season set. Bearing in mind some or all of the first five sets had daytime scenes in the background.
I assume there will be six discs again for the 23 episodes in the eighth season set (this is if you count the season premiere "Murder - Eyes Only" as one feature-length episode), and that the episodes will be on the discs like this...
Disc 1:
1. Murder - Eyes Only (fingers crossed there is a Jack Lord episodic promo included in the set)
2. McGarrett is Missing
3. Termination with Extreme Prejudice
Disc 2:
4. Target? The Lady
5. Death's Name is Sam
6. The Case Against McGarrett
7. The Defector
Disc 3:
8. Sing a Song of Suspense
9. Retire in Sunny Hawaii -- Forever
10. How to Steal a Submarine
11. The Waterfront Steal
Disc 4:
12. Honor is an Unmarked Grave
13. A Touch of Guilt
14. Wooden Model of a Rat
15. Deadly Persuasion
Disc 5:
16. Legacy of Terror
17. Loose Ends Get Hit
18. Anatomy of a Bribe
19. Turkey Shoot at Makapu
Disc 6:
20. A Killer Grows Wings
21. The Capsule Kidnapping
22. Love Thy Neighbour -- Take His Wife
23. A Sentence to Steal.

Secondly, it appears upon closer examination that CBS-Paramount is no longer using the box/slipcase, but instead it seems they have switched to an amaray case, similiar to the ones that releases such as Cannon, Fugitive, Perry Mason, Untouchables, and many other CBS-P releases come in these days (notice the white border around the art, the spine background looks different and is a solid color instead of the background scenery from the front cover, and the edges of the top and bottom spine appear rounded). It's smaller packaging and is most likely saving them a lot of money as they continue with these releases. I guess I'm fine with it as long as the cost savings keeps the series coming to completion with the last 5 seasons. It will save shelf space in the long run for me, despite the fact I would have preferred all the seasons match.
Overall, I'm guessing this is official 'temp' artwork that could easily change in the next few weeks, but it probably won't unless there is a serious error with it (whether the Jack Lord image is considered an 'error' is debateable). It's just one of the oddest-looking pics of Jack Lord I've ever seen.

Below is the URL link to the BBFC listing page for the Jack Lord episodic promos for the seventh season (on Region 2):
Hawaii Five-O: The Seventh Season (6 Discs) (Region 2) - Jack Lord episodic promos (source: BBFC website)
The overall running time of the episodes (when you include a Jack Lord episodic promo with the episode it's for) in Season 7 range from 48 mins 53 secs for "Diary of a Gun", to 49 mins 24 secs for the episode "The Two-Faced Corpse". This is at PAL speed (well they should be for Region 2 DVD).
Was "Diary of a Gun" cut on Region 1? It seems to have a shorter running time than the other 23 episodes in this season.

So to date, the first seven seasons of Hawaii Five-O have been given the following certificates by the BBFC (for the season overall):
The First Season (1968-69) - 12 certificate
The Second Season (1969-70) - 12 certificate
The Third Season (1970-71) - 15 certificate
The Fourth Season (1971-72) - 12 certificate
The Fifth Season (1972-73) - 12 certificate
The Sixth Season (1973-74) - 15 certificate
The Seventh Season (1974-75) - 12 certificate.

TVShowsOnDVD posted a new news article about the Season 8 (Region 1) set earlier this evening, confirming the street date posted on Mike Quigley's Hawaii Five-O fansite. Not much else in the article, other than there will be episode promos included (although it dosen't say how many of the 23 episodes in this season will have episode promos). The URL link to the news article is below:

If the Region 1 boxsets change to the plastic cases with the discs inside, then it'll be what the Region 2 sets have been like since the fourth season was released on DVD. The first three seasons on Region 2 were the same as the Region 1 sets, a cardboard outer box with the three/four slipcases containing the discs inside. But since then, the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons have had the plastic cases with the discs inside. The plastic cases are slightly not as wide as the cardboard outer boxes.
If the image of Jack Lord is changed (it should be changed), then I hope CBS DVD keep the background image of the surfer on the wave.

Hawaii Five-O: The Eighth Season (Region 2 DVD boxset) - Play.com pre-order page
I would think that date would be incorrect, especially when the http://www.mjq.net/fiveo/ has made no reference to 9th season. I would think we would see late summer or early fall for the 9th season.
I am still looking forward to the 8th season in march. There has been little activity on dvds this year, but, there are decent releases that i am looking for with great interest.

Amazon.co.uk now have a pre-order link for Season 8 on Region 2, and it's the same release date as Play.com's, Monday 10th May. Now I'm certain that when Play.com had the pre-order release date of 30th November last year, and Amazon.co.uk put up their own page they never put a release date on there. But with Amazon's page for the Hawaii Five-O: Season 8 (Region 2) set it must be coming out in May in the UK, only seven weeks after Season 7 is released.
