Any news on Forbidden Planet coming to Blu-Ray? - Page 2

Oh man! If this is Warner's plan for sure, a year away for Forbidden Planet? I hope I'm still around for that.

Many of the main cast are still with us so I hope we hear from them on the extras.

Craig, I got my Hallmark ornament too!

Nelson, I'd be shocked if they made any new extras for the Blu-ray release.

Gary- Thanks for the link to the release info story for Forbidden Planet and those other films.

Brandon- Sure, the other recent Warner releases of TWoO and NxNW didn't really add any new extras. The 50th Anniversary box set of FP has quite a few extras I can see them repeating. I never saw The Invisible Boy before. That was pretty goofy.

Oh, they'll surely include all the extras the HD-DVD had. I just don't see any new extras getting on there.

I hope WB/MGM release this film sooner in 2010, especially if no new extras will be included in the BD release.  I rented the film this past summer and was blown away by the production and plot.  Back in the 1950's, watching this film was like watching Star Wars.  I'm sure people in 1956 were just as thrilled and inspired by this creative sci-fi masterpiece as were those folks who watched Star Wars in 1977.  I can't wait to see this film in 1080p/24!

Of course this was not an official announcement, just laid out plans.  November 2010 is to bring the 1935 Mutiny On The Bounty, but I suspect you are talking about the Marlon Brando version, which would look great on BR.

Hopefully Mars Attacks! gets some extras added. I still think it's a shame Warner didn't give Beetlejuice some decent bonus material.

I bet it'll be a port over from the HDDVD. That edition didin't have everything on the Criterion LD Edition.
