After some searching on the forums I decided to pickup the HSU Research Enthusiast 2 and most likely an Onkyo TX-SR606 for a receiver. Now my question is, since the receiver is a 7.1 and the speaker setup is a 5.1 how well is this going to work? Am I going have gaps in my sound?

Re: Newbie needs help
All 7.1 receivers can be configured as 5.1. Fact is, there aren't that many 7.1 DVD's or Blu-rays out there, and the ones there are easily convert to 5.1. Processing in the AVR will handle any perceived "gaps" you think you may experience.Re: Newbie needs help
