So what's the deal with Shield season 7?

I know we normally have to wait for the new season to start to get the previous one on DVD, but the series is over. Why hasn't a release date been announced yet? It'd be nice if it went blu, but I'll take what I can get. Why keep us waiting? I still don't understand why Sony bothered to buy the rights to this show when there was only 1 season left. Seems stupid to me.

Sony didn't buy the rights to the show, they've always owned it. They had licensed the rights to Fox and when that deal ran out, they started putting it out themselves.

As for where the release date is, my guess is that it'll be out by summer. Keep in mind that it hasn't even been a month since the show ended so it's still kinda early and like you said, there's no new season to tie it in with so they'll release when they feel it'll sell the best.

According to TV Shows On DVD, it's coming on June 9.
