The best man! The better man! [Wedding Singer]

Looking forward to that one. Hopefully they'll address (if they can) the crackling that you can hear during some musical parts of the film. Or perhaps those parts were recorded "too hot" and nothing can be done. Who knows.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

- Above the Law

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Oh CRAP! What a disappointing assortment of bargain bin titles.

American History X is the only one of these I'll ever have the desire to see again, but I don't need to own it.

I'm 0 for 10 with this selection.

BAH HUMBUG!

I was really hoping The Maltese Falcon would be listed. Come on Warners, I've got my cash in hand, ready to buy.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

it is good to see them advertising "more great hi-def blu-ray releases coming soon" because there certainly aren't any pictured there

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Maybe these will be $10 titles or something. It did say more affordable then ever.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

'2010' for me if they do a good job with it. Otherwise, meh.

2010 is looking to return to my library.

Crossing my fingers Outland and Altered States are not too far behind...

I'll grab The Wedding Singer. And I may get American History X and 2010.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Nothing there for me.

But you know, it's actually a good sign that they're starting to dip into more 'ordinary' territory along with more sure-fire "big" titles. You've got to start somewhere.

I couldn't have said it any better. Bleh.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Has WB produced any new features for its catalog titles? I think I already know the answer (which would be "no") but a Peter Hyams commentary and/or interview would be nice for 2010. Doesn't the DVD have a vintage EPK piece?

(Personally, I'm waiting for Executive Decision... guilty pleasure.)

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

I'll probably buy 2010 and The Wedding Singer......the other titles I really don't have much interest in as most are good enough on the DVDs I already have. I do appreciate that Warner is digging into their catalogue titles though. Keep 'em coming.

Care to elaborate about "too hot" scenes and crackling? I didn't know about these issues.

New Seagal, Stallone Arnie on Blu-ray April 7th2009

Warner Bros. will release 10 new Blu-ray discs on April 7th2009.

Steven Seagal: Above the Law
Stallone/Kurt Russell: Tango@Cash
Schwarzenegger: Collateral Damage

The other seven Warner titles are uninteresting for me

Final Destination needs to be released in a pack with all the sequels...

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Meh. I'd consider 2010: The Year We Make Contact, American History X, and The Wedding Singer, but my decision to buy will be predicated on AV quality (especially in the case of the two former New Line titles) and price.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Wedding Singer if I can get it for under $15. But that's the only one from that list that I'd like to buy.

If a new DVD SE release arrives the same day, sometimes yes. If not, no.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

I guess WB ran out of titles to release on Blu-Ray.

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

Yeah I was thinking how cool it would be to have Blu ray titles for After Hours, KLUTE, All the President's Men, NETWORK, Where Eagles Dare, Who's Afriad of Virginia Woolf and even some guilty pleasures like Drop Dead Gorgeous... It will be interesting to see how these releases look and sound thru quality control.

Who knows maybe we will see other titles like BLOW UP and PERFORMANCE later on. One can dream I guess

Re: WHV Announcement: 10 New Blu-ray Titles coming April 2009

I suppose it's silly of me to expect that these will default to the HD audio track (if there is one...)?

I'd defo be interested in Tango & Cash and 2010

Disregarding the fact that anything shot on film has a near-100% chance of looking better than DVD due to the nature of the "resolution" of 35+mm, theast time I checked, true classics were still being announced. Unless somehow we've fallen into some alternate universe where this is the only Warner announcement of any significance from the last month or so, or for the foreseeable future.
