Kenwood JL-717

Hey,
my father had an old Home system that have 2 Kenwood jl-717 Speaker and one KA-109 amplifier but i dont know the specification of the Amplifier and the speaker.. Maybe if somebody have the same speaker and/or amplifier can help me?

Here the speaker look like (That is Jl-515 but mine *717* are much bigger):

Up? Maybe if know a better setero amplifier because the old kenwood doesnt seem to be very powerfull... if i put the bass at +10 *Max* i got a dirt bass.. i dont think the subs are the problem just bad amp no?

What is your budget for a new stereo receiver? Yamaha has a few ones ranging from $250 to $500.
