Ok here is the deal. I just purchased an apartment, my first. I have a small but reasonable budget to put together a home theater system, so far this is what I have come up with.

I am going to go to this place called Visions on boxing day. The staff are usually just kids who don't know a lot but you can usually work them for some good deals, both me and a buddy who also bought a place are doing the ultra early boxing day wake up and going to go park ourselves in front of the store before it opens. Here is what I have my eye on there:

Samsung 42" HDTV Widescreen Plasma Television - PN42A450: http://visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?categoryId=14&productId=2523&menuId=2&parentId1=5&parentId2=''&parentId3=''&menuLevel=2

Onkyo 630W 7.1 A/V Home Theatre Receiver with HDMI - TXSR606B: http://visions.ca/catalogue/category/Details.aspx?categoryId=143&productId=2924&menuId=368&parentId1=139&parentId2=''&parentId3=''&menuLevel=2

Now as for speakers Visions pretty much only has JBL, and Polk. Thus I am going to search out a Paradigm dealer and get:

4 Atoms
CC-190
PRD-8

I don't really have measurements of the room but my guess is 14 feet by 12 feet. One side of the room has a large sliding glass door, the other side there is a couple feet of wall then it opens up to a dining area.

So basically this is an apartment building, second floor, and clearly I'm looking for quality but not earth shattering loudness, performance, or anything of the sort.

I am going to be trying my hardest to swing this for around 2,000 CND or less, but am accepting that I will probably be more in the 2500 range with taxes. Would have you any recommendations based on this info? I skipped the ADP's because I thought with the layout they would not be a great benefit over just having two more Atoms.

Thanks!
