Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 9 - Page 2

Re: Walt Disney Treasures: Wave 9

Will there be any other Treasures for set 9, save beside the Zorro ones. I was thinking that they might start a Chip N' Dale set. . . or something else.

I'm considering this because I loved it when I saw it when it first aired, but really, as the show went on it suffered noticeably from not enough Zorro and too much Sgt. Garcia and Bernardo.

I'm not interested in Zorro, so I guess I'll be saving some money this year.

Same here. I have never been a fan of this series, though I know there are a lot out there so I guess I hold up to there wrath. I wish they would add a third tin that would include some of the two part made for TV movies, such as Sammy the Way Out Seal, Gallagher, The Saga of Andy Burnett, Moochie of the Little League and Escapade in Florence.

Here's the press release: http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Zorro-Seasons-1-and-2/12698

It sounds pretty cool. All 78 episodes of Zorro are remastered and included across twelve discs (each tin holding six). Unfortunately, nothing new was created to supplement these one-shot releases.

^ True there don't appear to be any new video or audio-based supplements, but there is that pin and lithograph.

after getting my first shipment from amazon lost in the mail, and the second shipment apparently stolen from my apt complex I finally got a third replacement shipment from amazon (it was a long but painless process, only long cause the thanksgiving holidays interfered with my having enough time to deal with not getting my dvds).

these sets are really classy, my only complaint is that they did not return to the printing the backs of the tins as they did in the first waves, otherwise, extremely nice, the black tin with gold lettering is gorgeous and seems more substantial and collectible than the silver tins before.  Love the presentation.

and I got two certificates of authenticity in my season one set, consecutive numbers, some poor sucker got a set that doesn't have a certificate.

I was a bit disappointed that there were only 125 disney reward points for these, considering they cost three times as much as a regular DVD, and twice a regular treasures.  Can't wait to pop in the first disc and see how the show looks.

Does anyone remember the Disney film, Tonka with Sal Mineo? I wish they'd put that out, it was my favorite movie as a kid.

Actually, it's been released as a Disney Movie Club exclusive.  Basically, wait a couple of months and it should be readily available on eBay or Amazon Marketplace.  You may not be wild about the price, but an official copy is available.

The Disney Movie Club Exclusive of TONKA is full screen with plenty of headroom.
Otherwise the transfer is fine, and the film is essential.
No reviews or discussion about TONKA anywhere, so it will probably remain one of the studio's best-kept secrets.

$19.95 or less with member discounts and worth every penny.
